nemesis is so funny conceptually. the ultimate bio-weapon. an undefeatable hunter. millions of dollars of research from the most evil corporation on earth. its target? a specific division of a single local midwestern police department

The city allegedly has a population of 100k which is insane that they would need a team of a dozen trained supercops with two helicopters in addition to the standard force.

it's even funnier that they went through a development process to get there that involved giant spiders and sentient plants that were ALSO apparently genuinely marketed themselves?? what sort of meetings had to happen where everyone passed the coke baggie around and said "BIG bugs. big ones. sell."

that's not Nemesis, that's Mr. X, the T-00 Tyrant. Nemesis is the persistent follower from RE3

She ate her Wesker-O's and was able to lift up a ridiculously heavy rail gun and shoot him multiple times in the face until there was nothing left. Umbrella was wrong to assume that no one in STARs would find one of the 3 Umbrella facilities hidden under Raccoon City, and she got lucky on which 1.

"Six billion dollars of steroids used by STARS" statistic inaccurate. Most STARS don't do steroids, Chris Redfield was an outlier adn shouldn't have been counted

well, it did kill a lot of STARS before getting stuck on Jill, so per dollar it has probably killed more valid military targets than most contemporary American weapons

A minor plot point in RE9 is that we now know the market price for some of the bioweapons and man, he's good at what he does but I can think of easier ways to bop off someone than buying a Nemesis to deal with them y'know?

They tried using their bio-weapons as military grade weapons but they kept getting clowned on by tanks and combined arms warfare so they decided bullying a group of SWAT officers was the best they could do.

I used to think Umbrella's schemes, and by proxy the RE games entirely, were lunatic nonsense, but I dunno, now* that my own government is run by unabashed eugenicist idiots, RE doesn't seem so far fetched. (I am aware that "now" is doing some heavy lifting)

I don't think I can agree with that one, because if Pokemon Red & Blue was even remotely serious about its themes (especially "trainers and Pokemon working in harmony"), then it wouldn't just let you catch Mewtwo at the end like you would any other Pokemon.

There's that build up about how Mewtwo destroyed the lab he was created in a rampage, and one of the chief scientists responsible for it regretted it so much that he dedicated the rest of his life to running an orphanage. But then Mewtwo himself just succumbs to your Pokeball like the rest of them.

it's like when OCP sent RoboCop 2 to kill the mayor and a bunch of drug dealers; they could have just hired some goons but the robot with a minigun was brand new and ready to go!

There's a document in requiem (spoilers) that they tried to make more Nemisi(s?) Uh. More Nemisises. But they cut funding for the project because they were too smart and kept escaping.

It was the test run of an intelligent bio weapon that could make decisions. Plus it was also there to kill the UBCS to collect battle data. Also S.T.A.R.S. were formed by Umbrella through the RPD with the intention of using the Mansion outbreak to collect data on their bio weapons.

Wesker led them there. When I tell people the modern remakes are dogshit and tell the story worse, nobody believes me, but then these types of misconceptions pop up and now I'm so angry that I'm numb.

Not only that, deployed DURING a zombie apocalypse! Like Christ, the dead are consuming the living and your priority is making sure that *checks notes* …some cops don’t get out alive to testify in court against you?
