My granddaughters were in Jr High & High school during the pandemic. They switched to online learning without a hitch & even took extra online college courses offered to them. One learned Greek, the other mastered fashion design. Learning never stopped. BUT stupid people stopped learning. 🤷‍♀️

I was a teacher during the pandemic. The kids who stopped learning were provided with a FREE laptop & a FREE internet hotspot just as EVERY child enrolled in our district. They CHOSE not to log into classes, watch the numerous videos, or view lessons provided. The parents blamed the teachers. 🤷‍♀️

No, children missed out b/c the pandemic was downplayed and we were encouraged to power through. We adopted policies on the fly that worked to pass kids along as if nothing had happened. Some of those misguided policies are still in effect.

Ask the health care providers who worked during COVID....they were overworked, under supported, exhausted, and depressed after caring for people who wouldn't vaccinate and having to watch them die by suffocating. A lot of healthcare workers I know left the profession after that.
