Amidst a failing war the US started, the SecDef chose to focus on measuring military members’ hormones, and injecting testosterone into personnel whose hormone levels he dislikes. He also fixates on PT while losing an air war. If you said this to someone a few years ago, they wouldn’t believe you.
Hegseth: "The ideological clowns are out. The patriotic cowboys are in, with testosterone testing on top."

"Ultimately, the gadflies don’t seem to actually understand how being a transgender athlete works. The idea that cisgender men like Enes and Royce would voluntarily undergo chemical castration to try to join the WNBA and make a minuscule rookie salary is farcical on its face."

“The policy-making structure is effectively posting to Truth Social & seeing if the gathered Nazis reply w/ likes or jeers. If the first, leave the post up. If the second, reverse course & chastise your aides. If neither, whine about how everyone is unfair to you & it’s all really Biden’s fault.”

“What is already clear is that the state isn't waiting for the quantum industry to arrive. It's trying to grow up alongside it.” Whether you're in high school, workforce development, or college, you too can be a part of the quantum vision in Illinois.

Donald Trump does not get to dictate how you vote. We must uphold the Constitution and protect the existing election authorities at every level of government that have always facilitated free and fair elections.

I assimilated all the way to Congress and this idiot still tells me to go back where I came from.
Tom Emmer: "Minnesotans are so afraid that you're gonna call us a racist, you're gonna call us an Islamophobe. You know what? I'm done being even the least bit careful. Somalis don't assimilate. And if they don't assimilate, then they should go the hell back to where they came from."

The Supreme Court is handing Trump a blank check for his cruel agenda to expel those fleeing violence and disaster. This is not commonsense reform — it’s only fueling Trump’s desire to attack people because of their skin color.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court allows the Trump administration to end legal protections for migrants fleeing violence and natural disaster in Haiti and Syria.
Indeed. We need more plant diversity, everywhere.
We have a new paper led by Natasha Khanna-Dang on bird foraging activity in California walnut woodlands across Los Angeles County. The punchline: more native plant diversity = more foraging birds in urban green spaces. doi.org/10.3160/0038... #UrbanEcology #Ornithology #ConservationBiology

"Something remarkable happened in April. For the first time in history, wind and solar generated more electricity than gas across the entire planet. Not in a country. Not in a region. Globally." Tons of great news here from Danny Kennedy (via @billmckibben.bsky.social's newsletter, which rules).

Trump Calling Welker “crooked” “stupid” and then the ultimate—“darling”—for asking him what evidence he has that elections are rigged? What is “crooked” is the money for the ballroom, what is “stupid” are the tariffs. And what is “darling” is a first class journalist.
WOW - Trump crashes out & cuts his interview w/ Welker short as she presses him on his lack of evidence for claiming elections are rigged "You're either crooked or you're stupid. I've had enough. Thank you darling," he tells her" "I traveled all the way to Wisconsin for this interview," she pleads

Abraham Lincoln understood, perhaps better than anyone, how personal liberty and self-reliance are at the heart of the American experience. But he also knew there are certain things we can only do together. Read more in my essay for @inpursuitusa.bsky.social:

The President is out of touch and out of his mind. Trump doesn’t think about your finances — he even thought gas prices would go up even more.
Trump on high gas prices: "This is peanuts. I appreciate everybody putting up with it for a little while. But I don't even think about. What I think about is you can't let Iran have a nuclear weapon."
My latest paper is out. This one was authored with four former students and encourages teachers to start their own long-term ecological research projects with their students. online.ucpress.edu/abt/article/...

The National Science Foundation is the main source of funding for basic sciences in the US. For decades, they have supported a scientific R&D ecosystem in the US that has been an engine of economic growth and competitive advantage. Destroying the agency is no less than an act of sabotage.
