Military equipment from the US is purchased by NATO countries to the tune of tens of billions per year, plus what they produce themselves. The US does not donate supplies. The US spends far more than other countries by choice. Just as it spends less on infrastructure, healthcare and education.

They sent troops there in January, both Denmark and France, led by a general who served with us in Afghanistan as well as on UN missions in the Balkans and elsewhere—including recently as deputy commander of a NATO base in Poland

America doesn't pay trillions of $ to NATO. It funds its own military needs, as all countries in NATO do. Greenland is part of a sovereign country's territory. It is up to Denmark to decide the future. The same would apply if China claimed it needed Hawaii to defend itself.

No, its up to both Denmark and Greenland,its still comes under the sovereignty of Denmark although it has devolved powers. Not only healthcare. Education, welfare, social security, pensions are all free paid for through taxation.
