Fox: "We want to acknowledge a mistake". Maybe. But that line doesn't work for a deliberate bit of deceit, which this appears to be. And was part of this "acknowledgment" a showing of the video that should have been included, i.e., with the offending cap? No? So even their "apologies" are lies.

If it was a sincere apology, they would have mentioned that he was wearing a baseball cap or shown a photo of the correct ceremony. I bet even the apology was planned in advance. "If we then apologize, no one can critize us and our viewers will still never see the hat!"

This isn’t how the law works. You can sue if *you* have been damaged, not because you think *someone else* has been damaged. The Dems could fund such a suit, but they’d still have to find plaintiffs would could show how the misleading led to actual damages.

I know how the law works. Just like I know that the CBS suit was political, as was its decision to settle and give trump money, rather than legal. But he set the precedent for a news program to answer for its content. Trump wasn't damaged by the interview edits. But the claim can be extended.
