Novel clients and pluggable systems like @impro.social that create the agency for folks to try different things to culminate in the grander better experience that suits folk better. Just keep networking. Probably on the web, nothing else matters or has such a premise of open.

One part of my plan is to also have laser-etched QR codes for mini-corkboards, cork business cards, and coasters complete with @corkboard.at branding that take you to the website for each venue's respective digital corkboard.

I'm pretty sure I told Paul about my baby pictures theory a long time ago when he was still in Austin. I still believe that if you can convince new parents that your platform is the safest, cheapest, and easiest place to share baby photos, the grandparents will fly over any hurdle to see them.

I literally built my own platform for this; permissioned spaces app #1 should be baby pics ๐Ÿ˜Š

on a less realistic side: faster on permissioned data and communities, no one really cares about microblogging other than silicon valley and journalists no one has enough time to consume this much stuff, give people niche boards and groups u,u

one thing I feel Bluesky hasnโ€™t taken advantage of is being able to build new forms of interaction itโ€™s twitter. It is. Thereโ€™s nothing that would make me want to use it over twitter if Iโ€™d not already made that choice. No different ways to engage, nothing unique.

*but sincerely sharing login to many different great apps. Sprinkle in some cross platform(โ„ข๏ธ) stuff and etc. I think for the most part if we build it, they will come. And by build it building great apps users love and want to have a login for

Honestly I still think thereโ€™s some juice to getting influencers to act like weโ€™re gatekeeping something and people feel like theyโ€™re pulling a fast one on Big ATProto

a lot of streamers genuinely hate it and see it as a boring/wokescold place and... there's no reason for them to come if there's no audience here for them to speak to

still loads of users on ๐Ÿฆ for whom change comes by harder; or online peers are clinging too. not sure how to give them the soft pushes required to take the leap. likely the most successful route would be white hat hammer down โš’๏ธ of that site's code and data. Not a suggestion just thinking out loud. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

I think we have to crack the sign up flow. We donโ€™t need to pepper everyone with โ€œthis is the last account youโ€™ll needโ€ - we just need to get them to sign up to *a* PDS. Then, when FedCM support lands - auto logging in to that one account will see atmospheric usage go *stratospheric*.

Maybe (later), weโ€™ll need a โ€œconsolidate all your many accounts that all have PDS data into one single accountโ€ - thatโ€™ll be a fun nut to crack.

I think this is the thing. Let people make accounts the way they know, then officer a โ€œooop; guess what, you can make these all the same thing!โ€ Merging the accounts is pretty simple (smush the merkle trees together) but getting all the external references to point to the one true accountโ€ฆ

I'm pretty convinced at this point that people would find a way to downplay the mandatory butthole. "I mean, yeah, it was shocking at first but it's usually the same image and honestly at this point you barely even notice it really"

All of us divide and conquer: We decide on consistent messaging for log in with atmosphere, and then ship simple, delightful โ€œlog in with atprotoโ€ PRs for *every* open source app. Bonus points if FedCM is ready, we add that too.

Seriously; we should have an โ€œoutreachโ€ working group โ€” people who build atproto features into existing open source apps. A group you can go to if you have a spare day or two for helping out; do some community support work and bring another app into the fold ๐Ÿ˜Š

Nice! I *think* we're not far from having that brand ready โ€”ย if I hear anything I'll post back here!

Better context/content which supplements mine bsky.app/profile/spac... But reason why people leave soc.networks (some land here on Bsky/ATprotocol) is to get rid of mass spy-induced posts from nocontext users +AI PR activities =thatswhy less hate here, overwhelmed brain defends, with emotion&refusal

spacecowboy@spacecowboy17.bsky.social

For You but cross-lexicon: find people who liked the same Bluesky posts as you and show you what they: - liked on standard.site - starred on tangled - rsvp'ed on atmo.rsvp - saved on semble.so - listened to on teal.fm - etc

Reductively, get a second app to crack 1M active monthly. Once you've got two modalities sharing a login and interoperating natively people will start to understand, each new app that joins those in numbers unlocks more people understanding.

Once we have permission data sorted out, we need to go all in on communities. Once they move over, people will follow. Also a good Instagram alternative AND simple migration tool. People want images, reels and memes ๐Ÿ˜…

Weโ€™ve got to go for the niches. Stuff like โ€œInstagram but atprotoโ€ and โ€œTikTok but atprotoโ€ are great and all, but we need to provide experiences that people canโ€™t find anywhere else.

We need more local organizations on here. Local news, local clubs, local popular figures. And then maybe a way to hide those from your following list so you donโ€™t get doxxed.

More serious answer, if there is big fandom activity on here, people will join it. I have a tumblr account that I stay on because the ability to do long posts and reblog them is super conducive to the type of squeeing about fandom that I enjoy.

Oops okay I thought you meant atmosphere as in... space. I don't think you can trebuchet people into the ATmosphere the same way, unless you have some viral video challenge going on.

some type of secret rave network that also just happens to be on atproto. the people who use it dont care about atproto at all, they just want to go to the rave

glad its a real thing. it was not an entirely joke idea. i think having things people actually want to access on a network, is a good way to motivate people to join the network and certain types of desirable things dont actually need to be on "the networks where everyone already is"

legislation that mandates monopolized apps integrate with open standards leading to implementation of atproto in existing apps

BlueSky has to show people that atproto exists. Rn you learn about it by luck, i guess majority of bsky users are not aware about atproto and how bsky relates to it. Bsky needs better way to include other apps. Good example is standard site highlighting.

More new ways to interact with atproto. Right now all apps are "pinterest on atproto", "twitter on atproto", "soundcloud on atproto", not interesting, because so few people are using them. There could be apps to interact with the protocol in itself, discovery apps, dashboards, cross-app stuff

Spreading the word like @danabra.mov been doing for last several weeks going to different podcasts. Learned most of the stuff from him. And last - money. Big players will come when they will see how they can make big money out of this, followers gonna follow.

sell stuff, buy stuff, exclusive event tix, nonexclusive event tix, experts answer questions, albums release, celebs interview, maybe easter egg lottery, aฤบlow atproto tipping n micropayments, walled cirated guarded reddit like gardens an the great scavenger hunt "name of Pauls cat for 10 pts"
