unlike others, SkyTrace does not and will not ask for login, does not require thousands of dollars a month to run (donations still encouraged!), isn't slathered with ads, and doesn't require relatively arcane atproto knowledge to use (pdsls is still the GOAT tho!).

as with similar things: please do not use it to invent a torment nexus for yourself or others. I'm exploring ways to mitigate that as much as possible, such as respecting the !no-unauthenticated self-label. doable, just not certain on the implementation quite yet.

anyway, should have very minimal bluesky dependencies (rn, just the cdn and some fallback routes!), so it should survive a reginos incident :)

Just happened across this. Looks great! Thanks for building it. One question: you show me as being blocked by a whole lot fewer accounts (1870) than ClearSky does (2752). Just curious if you have any idea why. Was going to guess this due to ClearSky counting disabled 1/2

you have an old account, so it's probably that the indexer on the backend doesn't know about older block records addressed to you. but also, from my exploration, clearsky seems to miss a ton of events, so it'll show people blocking you that aren't blocking you anymore or who have deactivated/deleted

how about display count next to 'Listed on' cards? like backlinks app.bsky.graph.listitem to see just how big list is, unless that's the reason why clearsky became so broken slow since they added it

It’s possible! I just am not certain on the UX part. I think ideally it wouldn’t be in the tab itself.

how much money would you get from full-page Meowdoku ads though, because if it's thousands of dollars a month, i think i'd tell you to get that bag (which is to say, thanks, time for me to delete an old bookmark)

it would be interesting to see the correlates of the blocks and the lists, eg which of these blocks are due to which of these lists could be thats impossible, or poorly specified; I’m unclear, due to my ignorance

you can try to correlate them but it’s imprecise iirc Problem is blocks are distinct records from list blocks, they don’t show up in the same location in either direction. So any account you see here for blocked or blocked by, they manually blocked you.

oh sounds like its really precise and just a second list through the listblocks, which, maybe I don’t care about after all

Hey out of curiosity – SkyTrace shows wayy less blocks for my profile than ClearSky. Do you know why that would be / is it a known issue?

clearsky seems to just be straight up wrong here My first thought was missing records in constellation’s backfill but I went to the repos of people it claims are blocking you, searched their repo for your account DID, and you’re not there lol

there are a few missing from constellation tho but it seems to be a mix, not all of those accounts seem to be blocking you? seems like they’re missing events as well. several of the accounts have also been deleted or deactivated.

so basically in order to get a full list you have to watch the network from the beginning of time by crawling every single account that exists while also watching for live updates—someone blocking someone, unblocking someone, etc. same concept for lists.

Interesting 🤔 Maybe they used to block me and unblocked me for some reason? 🤷 Thanks for checking.

that would be my thinking, that clearsky missed the event of them unblocking you and is now erroneously showing the block as a live state.

tiny bug (im surprised im not invalid.handle yet and this has alerted me to the fact that my nameservers for my domain got fucked) but if i pass in my did directly i still cant see my account on it since it errors trying to resolve a handle for it

it is probably trying to load your current handle for other things I imagine so I'll add some handle.invalid fallback

yea i got it from marque.at which apparently switched default NSes to self hosted ones and my domain never got migrated over so i had to do it manually

@aly.codes also getting the same issue. I type my username and it correctly resolves to my did, but stuck here. just did a migration to a new domain and new pds, so it *might* be related, but not sure what to try from here
