I'm a big fan of "love the note". I do feel that "I owe you a beer for learning this" is lovely but needs a more aggressive variant that threatens acts of violence if you're rocking up to the studio without having looked at the score yet...

10 years ago I drew this in the back of composition seminar. It went weirdly extremely viral and is probably the start of my Chronically Online Composer Presence. Somebody at Finale turned it into a font (I was not compensated). Don't know where I expected to be in 10 years but it sure wasn't here

This makes me sound like I think I'm some kind of unappreciated genius — quite the opposite! It's harder to write parts that are natural and easy to play on each instrument than it is to write tricky nonsense, but I do expect you to learn to play the tricky nonsense before the session starts 😅

People come up to me sometimes and say "wow that was some cool stuff you did in Unreal Metasounds for your talk last year! Where can I learn?" and it breaks my heart to say that I don't know if there will still be a Metasounds by the time you finish a game with it

It is deeply funny to me that Freakon had all of its tickets claimed in under a minute despite not publishing anything about the actual lineup until today. I guess the people had faith that the schedule would be fire, and it looks like the people were right
