Found some draft materials for a presentation I gave at work a few years ago around privacy and social media. I don't remember if I used this title slide or not, but uh…damn.

I got some time today to really get down to working on some iPhone Duo work in a (small) new project. Reconciling my existing iPad design into ArrangementView support (in iPadOS 27.2) in a clean way is feeling like this week's puzzle.

Weather hit the mid-sixties today. Overcast. Delightfully autumnal. Really fighting the urge not to throw on a flannel, eat a warm chocolate chip cookie and swirl a mug of hot apple cider.

The existence of cannonball watermelons insists on a watermelon cannon. Summer isn't over for a bit. Run the cannons. We're grilling. Avast!

Over the last twelve and a half years, I've been helping brands tell stories through technology as a member of the Golin Ketchum team. My role was eliminated last week, so...I'm open for work!

Choosing to believe Dolly Parton is the glittering butterfly in the sky that heralds the Reading Rainbow. What a talent, a human, and a force for good.

This is just to say I have rolled the barrels that you were keeping near the Arwing, and probably saving for Oktoberfest. Forgive me, they were invaluable in defeating Andross. —Peppy Carlos Williams

Hitting up the Wisconsin State Fair this weekend. Made a little app with the Sporkies and Drinkies entries so I can mark and review stuff I want to try.

My work inbox is the designated support inbox on a recent campaign gone awry. A reminder: the folks who made the decision/did the thing are never the ones on support emails. Don't be an asshole to the folks just trying to help. 💙

Forgot to take myself off the support alias for a brand drop at work before it launched. My inbox is awash with abuse from folks who didn't win.

Ten months after new corporate overlords acquired the holding company, the agency is about to migrate to new email addresses. Earlier today, we hit a daily "external send limit" across our tenant. What's the over-under on "the migration was delayed and we dropped a tier on our subscription?" 😅👀

In light of the cyclospora outbreak, all Eat Pray Love summer activities have been revised to "Eat! Pray! Poop?" activities. We regret this change to the itinerary.

Critics rave! RECENT_PASTE_ITEM_SINGULAR is the summer's hottest new release. RECENT_PASTE_ITEM_SINGULAR is the new brat summer.

Just a PSA that @hemcreekprod.bsky.social makes some really cool stuff. Do your ears and brain a favor.

We're excited to announce that we are partnering with Outtake Productions on their new audio drama "In the After," which is currently crowdfunding to support production of its first season. To learn more about and support the show, you can visit their campaign at: seedandspark.com/fund/intheaf...

Spending a stormy Fourth working on some new features for PolitiCall. It's *always* a good time to call your reps, but there will be more cool stuff to help this fall.

There's something depressing in Domino's having a whole patent on a pizza tracker, but there are no widgets or Live Activities for it in the app.

Heard there was ube oreo cheesecake being served in the neighborhood today. Made the trek between meetings, at a slice like pizza on the walk back. Some Fridays are hard, but they're still Friday, dammit.

Just read "Caplets" as "Capulet" on a generic Tylenol bottle and went "Oh, shoot does Romeo hate to see this comin'." It…bites its thumb at pain? (This is a dumb joke)

I know Marge was talking about regular potatoes, but between dinner last night and today's lunch, starting to think sweet potatoes are also pretty neat.

We've been in the "This is the new Big Tobacco" era for a while, but this is pushing into the "Hey, smoke 10,000 packs and we'll give you this jacket" territory. Ick.

Mark Zuckerberg has directed Meta to build an app similar to fast-growing prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi. The experimental app, internally called “Arena,” would be independent of Facebook and Instagram. nyti.ms/43TjexF

I made a new app (first time in 3 years) and it would REALLY help me if you pre-ordered it (for free). What's My Set is a simple, accessibility set counter for workouts with accessibility as a priority. The handy rest/interval timers bump the set counter for you. apps.apple.com/us/app/whats...

Folks at work didn't realize how much I had dropping this week. For our new agency brand launch party, we also put together a trivia challenge. Made a little web app that dropped questions throughout the day, showed a leaderboard, helped us raffle off some prizes. I'm…sleepy.

A while back I said I got to make a Pac-Man clone at work, but couldn't say why. Today, Golin becomes Golin Ketchum. Part of our new brand identity is a device that's not quite a G, not quite a K, but a lot like Pac-Man. 😉

Our creative team had an internal challenge to incorporate things we love into the brand device. As soon as I saw Pac-Man, I knew. So I shared a SpriteKit-based app with our team internally, then put the app icon into the bake-off. I'll share the code…eventually. (It's June! BUSY!)

A thing I am adamant about when I'm in a leader/mentor-y role 1:1 or in a small team: I want you to share something that excites or inspires you, and we're going to find opportunities to get excited, feel inspired and celebrate that together.

This toot brought to you by two incredibly exciting days of announcements and experiments and reflection on times when I've had and not had that for myself in my career.

Thinking about all the AI going into photography and how much it makes "the fact" a dramatization. And then caught myself going "Biologically, isn't most memory just a dramatization of a moment?" And oh…I touched a nerve for myself.
