I made a new app (first time in 3 years) and it would REALLY help me if you pre-ordered it (for free). What's My Set is a simple, accessibility set counter for workouts with accessibility as a priority. The handy rest/interval timers bump the set counter for you. apps.apple.com/us/app/whats...

Thank you Stephen for putting @pleasedontrain.com on the list!

Trying to aggregate all the iPhone Duo updated apps for videos and figured I should make the entire list public. Now on beardfm.app/duo-apps/ - iPhone Duo app directory! Crowdsourced from developers and people sending me links. Don't see yours? Reply with link below:

I know it's not realistic to expect it, but over a year after its introduction iOS call screening still doesn't work with Google Voice. Calls to my GV number result in Google expecting me to press 1 because of a fast pickup. I can never see what the caller would say is their reason for calling.

I've been paired with Eric Schofield and we're speaking on day 3 of the conference. Can't wait!

I just lost my job, totally blindsided 🙁 I've been developing iOS since 2012, and now I've been deep into agentic Engineering, especially this year. My family situation requires me to work remotely. I live in Utah, USA. Please spread the word 🙏🏽 Any help? 🩷

The most exciting part about the launch of the iPhone Duo for me has been seeing some apps finally adding support for iPad. Bluesky being on the top of that list.

Huge thanks to Craig for including @pleasedontrain.com in this list of apps that support iPhone Duo on launch day. I see a several friends in there too. 👀

Also new in today’s v1.136 update: iPad support! One of our most-requested features is finally here in beta. Try out the Bluesky app on your iPad, and if you see anything off, let us know under Settings > Beta features.

It’s unbelievable that we STILL don’t have a way on macOS to view the password we are typing. After being locked out for one minute it gave me one flipping more attempt and has now locked me out for five minutes.

I was absurdly excited to see Empire of the Sun and Foster the People this fall. They were both phenomenal experiences. The first half of this year I was stuck in a situation that made me unhappy every day. To be able to do things like this and feel happy and carefree again is incredible.

I got this warning from Apple about my previous iPhone on the iPhone Upgrade Program that has already been verified as returned. 😵‍💫

I've looked at this UI a thousand times but it never occurred to me that I didn't convert it to my current styling for liquid glass. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Back in my day you couldn't create an App Store In-App Event celebrating iPad support and actually mention "iPad". For iPhone Duo I'm happy to report that is no longer the case.

Almost daily I issue a Siri command “Set a timer for __ PM.” Previously this was always handled correctly. With Siri AI, I would say that around 30% of the time it wildly miscalculates the value the timer should be. This doesn't even involve time zones! FB25071051

Completely horrified to realize that if I rotate my iPhone 18 Pro from portrait to landscape to portrait again my iPhone Duo layout kicks in. 😭

Today I've been working on adjusting the weather image selection screen in Please Don't Rain to avoid the crease in partially folded mode on iPhone Duo.

All of the accessibility work that I did in Please Don't Rain for the largest text for the smallest windows has been really paying off in adjusting for iPhone Duo layouts.

Just found out that I didn't make it into the iPhone Duo workshop happening next week I signed up for. Even without going I think I've made really good progress with converting Please Don't Rain to support it.

So I've been building the Apple native video editing app of my dreams No projects, no libraries, just drop in files, trim, crop, add AI captions, export and get out. On macOS, iOS, iPadOS and Duo And I'm calling it – against my better judgement – Trimothy TestFlight link👇

I’ve had this topic on my mind for a while. Can’t wait to give this talk and experience @swiftsonicconf.bsky.social !

“We’ll handle accessibility later” is like learning the bridge after the show starts. @chriswu.com riffs on accessibility at Swiftsonic: quick wins we can use and how to prompt agents to build accessible experiences from the first note. See him LIVE: swiftsonicconf.com

My SwiftUI previews for the iPhone Duo look drastically different than what is shown when I use the simulator. The vertical bar is completely missing and the app is acting like it's running on a regular iPhone. You can't run Image Playground in the simulator so it's been previews. FB24967055

Feeling really glad that I spent so much time this summer giving @pleasedontrain.com a proper iPad layout. It has proved immensely useful in adjusting for iPhone Duo. Right now I'm shifting some controls that would have been in the crease in the partially folded state.

🚨 Surprise bonus Primary Tech Show! After trying Siri AI with third-party apps, I wanted to learn what's really happening. Ryan, creator of Foodnoms, explains the limitations and what the ideal integration could look like Apple: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/w... Overcast: overcast.fm/+BTMNJ5JsyI

While setting up my new iPhone last night my Apple Watch ended up rebooting. This morning Siri AI on the watch refused to set timers or alarms because it said the Clock app wasn't installed. 😵‍💫 Reboots didn't help but it started working later.

Reminder that if you used Stolen Device Protection you need to turn it back on if you transferred your settings/data to a new iPhone.

I hope that the user that gave Please Don't Rain two stars for using too much blue likes the new press kit webpage that just went live.

I worked so hard this summer improving the iPad version of @pleasedontrain.com. The app originally was iOS only and you could really tell. The same vertical layout just did not work with lots of screen real estate. Now the UI elements will intelligently arrange themselves in a new layout.

There's also support for the new Extra-Large Portrait Widget! More info than ever can now be shown for an overview of your special day.

It sure would have been nice if the UI for the Apple Store app would have presented an error if you entered a Chase credit card when trying to get ready for the iPhone pre-order tomorrow with the upgrade program. Nothing happens besides the submit button becoming inactive for a few seconds.

The nightmare is over. Three years after I opened this feedback and after over ten years of waiting I will *FINALLY* have a digital watch face for my Apple Watch that I like.

Siri no longer understands how to send a message to a group chat name that matches an app name This was never a problem before iOS 27. FB24707245
