@ericmigi.com I have a de-googled Pixel, and a Light Phone 3 that is running bare Android, (and a few other free-from-Google Androids). No Google Play Services but can sideload apks and have access to the Aurora Store. Do the new Pebbles require Google Play Services or just the app?

Every few months I’ll download BlueSky then realize I don’t have much worth posting on social media. Maybe just Tribble #cat pics will suffice?

Just finished “The Attention Merchants” by Tim Wu. What an excellent book! Looking for more books that are critical on either advertising or against #bigtech after finishing both this and “Surveillance Capitalism”. Give me some book recommendations that promote a #digitaldetox

Stayed in the BEST hotel ever. It was filthy, disgusting, had terrible food, and was cold. But it was also ran by a gang of #cats. One of them tried to go home with me. Happy #caturday

While stopped at a gas station in the south, I was a feeling little self conscious of how messy my hair was between barely sleeping, the wind, and traveling. Went up to the counter and the clerk told me my hair was “very pretty”. My day was made 😅

I don’t do social media much but if I do it should probably stick to here and Mastodon. I’ve been mostly using a #dumbphone lately, and am quite fond of the HMD Barbie which keeps me off the internet. Can’t wait for the #lightphone to have a dumb phone paired with a great camera though.

Wife took me to see this Syd Barrett documentary at the indie theater which was very lovely and also emotionally exhausting. Managed to resist crying (or having an emotional breakdown) through the whole thing.

So yeah I just saw Blue Beetle, and immediately upon getting home I subscribed to DC Universe Infinite and am seriously about to start binging some DC comics. Trying to decide where to even start. Was already excited for @jamesgunn.bsky.social DC but now I foresee becoming a “superfan”

One of my biggest peeves is people who clap in movie theaters at random parts throughout the movie. Nobody who made the movie can hear you, you’re just being loud and obnoxious during a movie.
