No one wants to live in a conservative, libertarian economy. Because they suck.

Detroiter Nicole Williams when asked if Abdul El-Sayed is ‘a bit too left wing to win in Michigan’: “At this point what do we have to worry about? Anything but what we have. We're on our way to hell, so at this point: socialist, socialize, social, dont matter to me, lower my cost of living!”

yup.

thehandbasket.coRepublicans don’t have a Nazi problem—they are the Nazi problemA spate of recent revelations have shown the ideologies and their adherents are one and the same.

This week’s main story is about how more and more white nationalists, antisemites, and Nazi sympathizers seem to be integrating into the Republican Party, how some of them are currently running for office, and how old you can be for JD Vance to consider you “a very young boy.”

Remember Matty is just an asshole on the telling people in the ring what to do. He has never been in the ring in his life.

A helpfully clear exchange here Hasan: "So your argument is that [Minnesota ICE protesters] should stay at home because immigration is a salient issue for Donald Trump. Opposing ICE is only going to help Trump. Wait until we win the election in 2028." Yglesias: "Yes that is what I would have said"

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

Man who is famously known for not paying is bills says THIS time he's going to pay his bills.

Trump on Camp Lejeune water contamination claims: "If we win the House and Senate, I am directing the Department of Justice to settle all remaining legitimate claims as soon as possible ... if we don't win, there's no money."

‘Not an Appealing Quality!’ Democrats on CNN Panel Rip Abdul El-Sayed Over ‘Cockiness’ The same pundits who tell female candidates to "smile more" now tell the Muslim Senate candidate to be more respectful to the white bigot who smears them with lies. #STFU www.mediaite.com/media/news/n...

You can't hold me accountable for not anticipating the bad thing that happened just because I was actively ignoring all the people who told me it would happen.

Susan Collins on Kavanaugh: "I'm very disappointed in his his vote to overturn Roe v. Wade. There was no way for me to anticipate that."

I can watch that video of Tommy being owned over and over. It’s so good. El-Sayed is so good in that moment.

Huge follow-up reporting to my scoop: The Guardian confirmed America Next—the conservative nonprofit founded by Bobby Jindal that was offering students $ to disrupt El-Sayed events—paid a firm registered to Tommy Teepell’s dad Timmy $250k for “canvassing and influencer marketing” against El-Sayed.

They basically gave El-Sayed a great commercial. Well done, conservatives.

Most billionaire wealth isn't in yachts or jewelry — that's just a few percent of it. Most is productive business capital: companies that employ people, build things, and fund research. Tax that wealth and you're taxing the businesses that employ us all. Cato's Adam Michel explains.

Racism makes you stupid.

Well... sort of. "Eleven people with lawful permanent resident status were arrested in California Monday for alleged voter fraud. Hours later, First Assistant Attorney for California Bill Essayli admitted that they may not have even voted."

We already have flying cars. They're called helicopters. They're really expensive and there are good reasons you have to have a pilot license and work with air traffic control to fly them. Putting jets on a sedan is not going to result in a better vehicle or transportation experience in any way.

One way of reducing property taxes is by lowering home value, which, of course, would happen when there are no services to offer (like police, library, parks) that homebuyers like. Libertarians are the worst. They want everything but they don't want to pay for it.

This is my surprise face.

SCOOP: 'Tommy' from the now-viral exchange with Abdul El-Sayed is Thomas Teepell, a former staffer for Republican Senator Josh Hawley with close ties to Christian Nationalist Sean Feucht. He's the son of a former Bobby Jindal staffer whose consultant work was instrumental in getting Hawley elected.

since California ballots are now out: prop 40 is the billionaire tax, and you should vote yes to stick it to them but both props 41 and 42 are designed to retroactively cancel the billionaire tax because they’re afraid they can’t beat it at the ballot box yes on 40, no on 41 and 42

President Trump and the Republicans had a two year romp through every political fantasy nourished in their heart since The John Birch Society and Richard Nixon, and you know what: it turns out their ideas were bad and are tanking the economy.
