In one day, two politicians - Bolsonaro in Brazil and Vucic in Serbia - with ties to Trump have lost surprise elections thanks to high turnout. The rise of the international far-right is not inevitable.

There are so many crimes in this thread you have to wonder what the police and Home Secretary think they are doing at this point.

Worrying scenes in the Channel today, for all interested in asylum policy and maritime tactics. A small boat from Normandy spent more than 30 hours at sea. Those on board now on their 2nd rescue vessel as Border Force forced to play cat and mouse with far-right activists who have their own boat.

As a non-practising Jew, I find this line of questioning utterly abhorrent. I also fully support Miliband's position. Jews are not a homogeneous bloc and should not be treated as such, it's dehumanising.

Happy to admit that I don't follow football, but I know a lot of you out there do (and apparently there's a big competition on at the moment!?) Anyway, I have a question: who benefits the most politically if England win the World Cup?

This is what a pogrom looks like: men in masks coming to drive you from your home. This is a collective failure of our political and media class because we did not have the courage to say no, and because too many were allowed to embrace this without shame

#BBCBreakfast: "... families had to be led to safety through the flames.. it wasn't just homes, cars were also torched by young masked men in these predominantly unionist streets, but the target here was immigrants.." This is what the likes of Reform are inciting.

New idea. Next time we publish a report on a politician, I’ll keep the politician’s name blanked out for a week, and let everyone take positions before they find out who it is.

📌 As audiences increasingly consume short-form content, this panel asks what space remains for longform journalism today. Editors from FT Magazine and Denmark's Politiken explain why they continue to invest in narrative reporting and why longform remains essential to tell deeply human stories.

Update on our libel case 🚨 - the businessman suing us didn’t turn up to the high court for the first hearing. Judge was unimpressed with his medical evidence. Fighting these threats to journalism in the UK is frustrating and expensive but we will win. www.the-londoner.co.uk/that-busines...

A tax barrister sued me personally for £8m for libel after we linked him to a tax avoidance scheme. Today the High Court struck out the claim, granted summary judgment, and ruled it was a SLAPP. The judgment is highly critical.

Savour the irony here. For a year the Trump administration have browbeaten Zelensky as a loser with no cards. Now they turn to him for anti-drone defences. Perhaps they will now recognise that Ukraine is a valuable, battle-hardened ally.
