There won't be a newsletter or podcast this week, super heads down with my talk for the JetBrains Javascript Day on Thursday but we go back to our regular schedule next week 🙌

"Most teams think micro-frontends are just components you load at runtime. But components leak domain logic to containers, micro-frontends should own their entire domain." Fantastic podcast episode with Luca just went live, addressing my concerns around microfrontends! Link in 🧵

Thanks Luca for joining the podcast! Really enjoyed our chat about micro-frontends, I couldn't appreciate your nuanced opinions any more! Thanks a bunch. Looking forward to that serverless conversation we talked about!

The community reaction was mixed (as expected), but Daniel Roe said it perfectly: "Nuxt's independence as a framework is absolutely essential to me, and that's something Vercel have committed to." Competition breeds innovation - even within the same company 💪

This signals something bigger: we're moving from "one framework to rule them all" to "many frameworks, one platform." Vercel isn't trying to kill Nuxt for Next.js - they're betting devs want choice in tools but consistency in deployment 🚀

What I love about this move: ✅ Nuxt keeps its independence & open governance ✅ Team gets sustainable funding (finally!) ✅ Nuxt UI Pro going FREE for everyone ✅ Self-hostable Nuxt Studio coming ✅ No vendor lock-in promises This isn't acquisition, it's investment in the ecosystem 🌱

🎙️ Fresh episode of The Weekly Dev's Brew is live! Had an amazing chat with @danielroe.dev (@nuxt.com core team lead) about something we all use but rarely optimize properly: web fonts. Turns out your Google Fonts copy-paste habit might be costing you more than you think 😅 Links below 👇
