i would not have gotten this release in most circumstances as i've seen how badly they handled this one and i have the movie through far better releases but 1. i found it for relatively cheap and 2. i wanted it for my collection purely for historical purposes (the poster's also kinda cool)

also gotta be honest i Do Not like the naming scheme they ended up with for the international release where they just called it "Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion" and not "The End of Evangelion". it's... quite a mouthful.

and while the models themselves were purely manmade it still just feels kinda yucky knowing some guy out there with a lot of influence is clapping their hands seeing all of the posts about the models because of said indirect signals. it really sucks that that's how that works, but still

This is why I hate the “it has to be subtle!!!” Critique of queer media. The fact that we can’t just say what we are or what the character is is so reductive and constraining to so many queer writers. Don’t let cis people dictate how you show you identity. They don’t know what they’re saying.

This has truly fucked me up. Eric Bauza somehow had both a huge impact and yet still felt he was just getting started. Not just a fantastic voice actor but a campaigner for animation. His voice was the rallying cry for Coyote Vs Acme, which became the highest grossing WB film of 2026. Fuck.
