as a micromanagement game freak, you would think frickbears is a game made for me. you're right on many levels, but also i get too scared they'll Get me
i have 100%ed casual management games before for fun, but Sally's Salon doesnt have a customer yell in my face if i fail, which sort of is also the difference between working retail and working reception in real life, ive found
BioWare was not closed because their games were queer, or bad, or rushed, or too ambitious or anything else. They were closed because EA is trying to raise their bottom line by a couple percentage points and that always comes at the expense of the people who's labour is already being exploited.
bioware made me want to do anything creative. writing, gamedev, whatever. all of it spawned from watching my dad play KOTOR as a kid. what a shame what came of it.
you can't judge when bioware was really killed because the mismanagement at the higher level under EA has been so constant and pervasive since the acquisition at every stage that every game shipped at all was a herculean miracle
the obsession with whether or not fans of a thing are "larpers" is an illness. exact kind of lame gatekeeping bullshit as the guy who'd see a girl in a band shirt and go "name five of their albums" or the comic book guy who has to prove he knows more about batman than you, but for a new generation
i should really remember to post here more often
i mean uh #monsterart time! Earth / Mage makes this Time Sage, since sand is so thoroughly associated with time for obvious reasons

People get demoralized when transitioning when they discover that beyond the initial identification of "the problem," transitioning itself will not make you happy. What it provides is the POSSIBILITY for happiness by allowing you to more easily participate in romance, community and self-improvement
at the end of the day, its US law that is gonna be twisting ANY platform into complying
panicking does nothing. if you want to make a diference, contact your senators and demand they vote no on KOSA, as an example of one such bill

moderately enjoying a new larger-budget game and having the nagging itch in the back of my head of "don't tell me this has undisclosed genAI or ill sob"

i didn't even know there was a game presentation today. apparently it was geoff? but it seems nearly every single thing in it was boring, AI, or something we already knew about like control. such is industry
directs are hit or miss but they feel like they at least have a greater rate of showing more than one interesting or memorable thing per presentation, even if it's not for me. and none of them are slop
