Rolled credits for Tenebris Somnia & damn that is GOTY material right there. I don't go out of my way to play horror games all that often, but this game spoke to me. I went all in & got greeted with a gripping narrative that would not let go. I'm so ready for the next endings now.

There's a few issues to iron out, but nothing a few updates won't fix. Stuff like getting softlocked by getting stuck in a mundane object & simultaneous achievements not unlocking correctly Nevertheless it is still 9/10 for me, maybe 10 after I witness the other endings & use anything other wrench.

I’ve yet to experience Mass Effect, but from my understanding this was more of a smaller scale sci-fi spy thriller with cosmic horror elements that would’ve absolutely been my shit. Looked very realized too if the trailer’s authenticity is any indication.

In an age of generative AI, this sorta trailer leaking is hard to validate without any of the former staff confirming its existence (which will probably never be able to do). Regardless for what seems to be a smaller scope game, giving it the Universe subtitle is a bit of a misnomer.

After the Saudi acquisition, this was to be expected. On a related note, The Sims Project Lotus being cancelled for another venture is worth keeping an eye on. Absolutely gutted to hear a complete studio closure after 31 years of operation, the people who worked on it & the death of Mass Effect.

to me the existential threat posed by AI slop games is less "AI slop games will steal our sales" and more "the onslaught of AI slop and the exhaustion over having to second guess every new game will make people mentally check out from supporting new games at all and retreat to their backlogs"

I'd absolutely love a one-click ignore all AI games on Steam button. Shifting through the trash on here to get to actually great demos on Next Fest is absolutely tedious & I'd love to not be able to see an AI game.
