Billionaires throw a fit at the idea of an annual wealth tax... but literally everyone else already pays one via property taxes (either directly as a homeowner or secondarily as a renter). The only reason securities aren't taxed the same is because that's where the rich keep most of their wealth.

“The borrowing let Ellison keep his stock and avoid locking in taxable gains, and highlighted how billionaires often employ a strategy called ‘buy, borrow and die’ to retain their wealth without selling assets.”

This map is a bonkers crazy quilt. Arkansas and NM have some of the best rates along with a good chunk of New England. Idaho, Wisconsin, Arizona in increasingly rough shape for uniquely different reasons! All to say, my elder millennial ass needs to get an updated MMR shot.

AOC: The Republican Party’s brand is fear. They constantly want Americans in fear of somebody because, if you are not afraid of someone who is your neighbor, you’re going to realize who’s actually pickpocketing you.

Our goal is to simply survive this administration and all of the damage they are doing to our country, the present and future of science. I publish with "foreign scientists" all the time. This is going to be a problem if I cannot cite those papers in my progress reports.
