We are sad to learn that Japanese writer Ryū Murakami has passed away at 74 years old. Murakami wrote the 1997 novel AUDITION which was adapted into Takashi Miike's horror masterpiece. He also wrote the novels Almost Transparent Blue and Coin Locker Babies. Rest in Peace.

Wile E. Coyote, despaired, takes a bucket of paint and a brush and paints a beautiful two-bedroom house on a mountainside. He paints a beautiful coyote wife in the window, and two adorable coyote kids running around in the yard. He tries to enter this new coyote life, but it is inaccessible to him

Apparently I can fully disassemble and reassemble a Sony a6000 in 3 hours and come away with a working camera. Feeling pretty strong.

Finally painted the first mini for the Robotech Macross DOG FIGHT miniatures game. Plenty more to go, but this finally breaks the seal.

As a sub over dub sicko I am infuriated with the state of labeling movies both online and at movie theaters. Just clearly state which one is the sub and which is the dub. You don't understand, if I hear an American voice my throat will close up and I will have to be rushed to the hospital

Fucking *this* I stand tall by my option that Fromsoft is making the modern version of nes-era Zelda games and that’s a large part of why they whip so hard. The imitators almost always fall so short because of the reasons Rory’s covering here.

Rory Blank@roryblank.bsky.social

I think a big reason a lot of "soulslike" games don't work for me is that FromSoftware's fantasy games are building off of design ideas that they learned from Zelda games, including the sense of wonderment that comes with exploration, and the imitators are trying to copy FromSoft (bleak, difficult)

Just unlocked 2 hidden CPU cores in my totally-not-a-Steam-Machine BC-250. At some point the gravy train has to end on this box but it's still the most exciting piece of tech I've worked with this year.

Had to fix my coffee grinder by requiring it to a simple on/off switch. Also took the time to remove the decaying soft-touch plastic residue. Two tremendous wins!

I've just hit a new level of "regular" at one of my favourite noodle joints. Walked in and was asked if I just wanted the usual today.
