Damn. Can’t say I’m surprised but still. I was always a little proud that such a well-known studio was based in my city. I hope with the talent involved we see a bunch of smaller shops doing interesting things.

alyssa mercante@alyssamerc.bsky.social

Consolidation is killing our industry. The Gamergaters who make money off the rage game will have you think this is a victory. This is purely a loss. A loss of work and art and fun and expression in a space that desperately needs it. Massive fucking bummer.

This one’s for all my #VirtualPhotography people out there! 🎮📷

Just added this weekend: you can now include your @grain.social images when you log a game!

Counter-point: let’s do.

Let's not shame people on X. People have bills to pay and network effects are powerful. Instead, encourage and enable "cross posting" to Bluesky like @thdxr.com does @toni.bsky.team Bluesky PBC should reach out to VIPs on X to offer simple solutions to cross posting, maybe even a free app/service.

Didn’t know they were adapting Dredge into a series

TEASER TRAILER - Netflix's sea creature series BELOW premieres October 8. Josh Hartnett, Charlie Heaton, Mackenzie Davis & Rohan Campbell star. A fisherman fights to protect his family & his community when a mysterious sea creature terrorizes a remote Newfoundland town.

I was extremely burnt-out after job hunting for the better part of last year. The whole vibe around ATproto projects has been really rejuvenating! Which makes it suck all the more to see folks I respect and admire feeling that pain and going quiet 💔

Brittany Ellich@brittanyellich.com

Looking at all the tech burnout chat today and realizing that I think getting involved in ATProto has really saved my career. The future is bleak but having something hopeful about it in ATProto and the promise of the open web is keeping me going and excited.

I didn’t realize 11ty had forked Nunjucks! I haven’t looked at it in a bit, but I could use some help getting my Nunjucks Zed extension working better…

github.comGitHub - stormwarning/zed-nunjucks: Nunjucks support in ZedNunjucks support in Zed. Contribute to stormwarning/zed-nunjucks development by creating an account on GitHub.

A big ol’ maintenance pre-release of Nunjucks reduces library dependencies to 0, audits to 0, install size by 566 kB (828 to 262): github.com/11ty/nunjuck... Coming soon to a canary release near you.

Splashdown! Vehicle is stable and upright. “A perfect bulls-eye splash for Integrity and its four astronauts!” #Artemis

Any #CSS heads out there have a way to have line-clamp and text-box-trim work together without cropping the descenders on the last line?

Losing respect I had for devs still on X, The Everything App (formerly Twitter) “But I get yelled at on this site for talking about AI!” They’re generating CSAM on the other site! This should not be a hard choice!

I mean, I’m sure it’s not fun — especially for big accounts — to have a bunch of hardliners swarming you when you’re trying to have a nuanced conversation, but come on. You don’t have to be here, but you should not be there.

I want to give AI code tools a fair shake but I don’t know if I should use @zed.dev with its hosted LLM, or with my own Claude Code API key, or Claude Code Pro via ACP, or what

I’m really digging the updated & unified @voidzero.dev branding — love a bit of grainy texture, and especially how the Oxc logo references the anchor shape of the original mark

“What kinds of things would people use it for?” really underscores how this is a solution in search of a problem…

It's heartbreaking to read of such an aimless, anchorless, design process. www.therepository.email/wordpress-ai...

Me, but for text-box: trim-both cap;

the second text-wrap: pretty hits widespread availability i am gonna bring that mf to every designer i know like moses comin' off the mountain. i'm gonna be like if prometheus was a design engineer

@cory.laviska.com What’s happening with Quiet UI? I went to reference your build setup for it but the repo doesn’t exist on GitHub anymore? Thought maybe it was moved to private, but the social accounts are deactivated too...

On behalf of my city: I’m so embarrassed 😓

Giant Days volume 8 has been banned in school libraries in Edmonton in Canada, but the other volumes are all adjudged as fine. I am not interested in litigating the contentious sociopolitics of this here but I did have a look through to try to work out why only that volume was singled out.

✨ Big O ✨ Let me take you on a visual introduction to what big O notation is in my new blog post: samwho.dev/big-o. With big O notation you can better understand how algorithms will perform in practice, finding orders of magnitude improvements often with very simple changes to your code.

Genuinely baffled by the requests for bookmarks — browsers have had this built-in since day one, and in the mobile app “Share via…” should let you save it to whatever bookmark service you like, no?

alex benzer@alexbenzer.com

as head of product, my job is simple: listen to you and bring you more of what you want from social. first up… a feature so requested, we lost count of how many times you asked. any guesses??

“…time cannot be “poorly spent” because time can’t be “spent” at all. To think that it can cheapens time. Time is limited, but not scarce. It can’t be saved. It goes away whether you’re using it or not.”

This is one of my favorite pieces at @crossplayblog.bsky.social yet. To control how they played video games, this kid's Christian fundamentalist parents created a tool even the devil would be envious of. It's time for you to learn about The Binder. www.crossplay.news/p/how-my-rel...

That insult was eventually added to the list of "unparliamentary language," which is forbidden from being used in debates in New Zealand. It also includes "idle vapourings of a mind diseased" (from 1946), "Merv the Swerve" (1980), and "energy of a tired snail returning home from a funeral" (1963)

Oh shit. Just thought of the next thing to dread/look forward to in Season 2 of The Last of Us... Well, maybe not so much *one* thing as several things clumped together.
