I had to do one of these. It was utterly humiliating but I will love the ppl who helped forever. I'm still waiting for my fuckass disability but our situation has, yknow, been really improved by my now deceased godfather, who was also a saint.

Jumping on the bandwagon to show my love for Bioware 💕 I'm still way too heartbroken to really say much. DA was the series that shaped me over the past eleven yrs. The stories, the characters, the worldbuilding, the art direction. I will never be able to thank the studio enough. Thank you, Bioware.

We come back to the idea of Execs who really don't understand art or why people make art, in any way, finding ways to absolutely annihilate those that do, in a death of a thousand cuts and then one big 400-person cut. It's heartbreaking. The western games industry kills a NIntendo every year.

So you look across time, and it feels like a rise and fall. It's 30 years. A lifetime. But at the same time, you look at - say - what Larian has achieved with Baldur's Gate 3, and you can't help be aware how badly Electronic Arts fucked up with the stewardship of Bioware.

EA's closure of BioWare is transparently a vile move to shutter the studio that made by far their queerest titles. In the wake of this, I implore you: MAKE MORE QUEER ART. Make it trans. Make it horny. Make it scary. Make it loving. Make it with every inch of yourself. Flood the world with it!

BioWare created two of my favorite stories (not just video games, but STORIES in any medium) of all time. This absolutely sucks and I’m so bummed, especially seeing so many people lose their jobs in the current climate. Fuck EA.

I don’t really have any words for how devastating this is. For the industry, for the community, for everyone. What a terrible loss. 😔

The fact that corporations did not value the human impact of Bioware games is devastating. We love the studio because of their humanity, not because of fancy graphics or multiplayer or microtransactions or anything else shunted in to generate revenue. All EA had to do was leave Bioware alone.

Bioware taught us characters talking could anchor a game. No one else was doing it like them at the time. We came back for our pixel friends from the strength if the writing and Bioware's commitment to storytelling.
