I work for a company you hate, building products that you hate even more, but not as much as I do. Also I am not fun at parties, I have no idea why people keep speculating about this. Note to leftoids: this is irony, a non-literal form of humor.

Americans were upset about inflation, so they threw out the leaders who oversaw slowing inflation, opted for a candidate promising to raise prices faster, and got what they voted for.

"Do not, my friends, become addicted to water"-ass religion. The fact is, WECs cultivate evil in the way they said Satanists did, and they're violently fanatical in the way they say Muslims are. It's all projection.

Historical moment! The first-ever aerial evacuation of a person from the frontline using a UAV. An infantryman from the 30th Mechanized Brigade was wounded while holding a position. Due to intense enemy drone activity and heavily mined terrain, evacuating him using standard ground-based

Article kinda dances around it, but the important thing to realize is that the hardcore Trump fans are not disillusioned because they are good people realizing Trump fooled them, but because the Epstein story dovetails with the anti-semitic conspiracy theory that is embedded deep in their ideology

Okay sorry I think we're done with "Tell me [] without telling me []." It had its time. It was always condescendingly smug but now it's also unbearably tedious; I think we can move on.

This is so dumb. When I was in the Army, the most dangerous guys were chill, dorky looking dudes who nerded out on planning and logistics theory because they already knew 23 ways to kill you and had nothing to prove physically. That's what military professionalism really is.

The Pentagon released guidelines requiring male service members aged 30 and older to be tested for low testosterone. A new study estimates that about one-quarter of active-duty U.S. Army men may have levels below a commonly used cutoff for low testosterone. https://wapo.st/4sfO8vK

A Hammond B-3 organ. I would play it nonstop for a week, never getting past "Green Onions", and then forget about it.

question for the audience: if you were ultra rich (let’s say $25M), what completely frivolous thing are you buying?

These are the right questions. I don't know if AI is conscious. I can't prove you're conscious. I'm not sure I'm always conscious. So this question is clearly a proxy for deeper questions that few are willing to articulate. Let's start asking, what if it's true, and does it even matter?

Why do I have to keep learning that democracy actually hinges on the decision of some random unelected office called the "deemster of congressional establishmentarianism" to continue inking his rubber stamp in black instead of blue.

Schooley@schooley.bsky.social

So what I'm getting is we don't need to worry about will Mike Johnson refuse to swear in a new congress. If we're going to worry about anything it's will 88 year old Hal Rogers swear in a new speaker.

What the approach reveals is that for these people, parody is the beginning and end of their ideas. They're not trying to change society, they're trying to sell content to people who like to fantasize that slinging barbs and consuming parody is a theory of change.

1) As an authority, they appeal to a demo receptive to them (disgruntled libs/leftists); and 2) attack the portion of our polity that can be exaggerated, and has a sense of shame (Dems). This is why I think they're doing it. Whether it's fair, right, or will defeat Fascism is another story.

Everybody needs to block & boycott The Onion and all associated Onion people. They've been brainwormed into leftoid nonsense for a while now, but the "I'm not touching you" Judenhass has departed the realm of anything that can be called Palestinian advocacy. It's nothing but hate.

One of reasons that the whole attmepted rank pulling thing people do about being “protest elders” or “hardcore longtime activists” isn’t something you have to necessarily respect is because at a certain point its clear this shit is just your hobby, like you just like going to protests.

But that's why he's doing it. Hegseth could never make the grade as SF, so he's going to make them shave and get testosterone tests. I'm sure he enjoyed making misery for Sikh and Black soldiers, but this is all about operator envy.

Garrett M. Graff@vermontgmg.bsky.social

The funniest thing about this is every Special Forces operator of the last generation — the exact kind of “warfighter” Hegseth purports to idolize — has the world’s most massive beard. That’s entirely the look of today’s supersoldiers.

what does it mean if I have no idea what any of this is about

"Well I don't have a TV or a radio so it's not surprising I haven't heard the song" You live in a bubble. What you're describing is a self-curated bubble. If you haven't heard the song that's been #1 on the charts for 23 weeks, you live in a bubble and you should probably be aware of that.

It can't be stressed enough, the only way to deal with Republicans is to shove their own medicine down their throat, twice as hard as necessary, and laugh while you're doing it, until they beg you to reverse their own policy.

Wu on redistricting if Dems get control: "You do the exact same thing that they did to you until they say mercy" and agree to national, bipartisan reform.

I don't think we can prove whether AI is conscious or intelligent any more than we can any human on the other side of a chat screen. The bigger question is, what would be the implications of that determination? What would have to change if we decide they are conscious? Nothing? Everything?

The leopards... ah fuck it I can't do it. Nobody deserves to have their child murdered by the police, no matter who they voted for, no matter how dumb they are.

Mother of Renee Good: I voted for Trump under the impression that these agents were here to protect the citizens of the US, innocents like our family and the others here, against terrorists. Certainly not to accuse those of us here of being terrorists and take precious lives. This is madness.
