I've been friends with the director of “Capturing Bigfoot” for decades, and watching the internet theorize about it has been wild. One thing I can say: If you think Marq and his crew made this for the money, you vastly overestimate how much money documentary filmmakers make lol.

Lula has been reelected president, Brazilian media has now called. An extraordinary comeback for the left-wing politician who trailed by 2 points in round 1 but managed to hold off Flávio Bolsonaro, the former president's son.

@pewresearch.org Can you explain why @bsky.app was not among the platforms in your survey?

I pointed out earlier this year that Talarico's state campaigns were backed by Miriam Adelson and I got a response that was "oh, it's just because of gambling." I kind of brushed it off after that but I didn't think it was better. Since last month, I have been vindicated

As a journalist and a prof teaching journalism: What @nbedera.bsky.social describes (sharing interview recordings with other journalists who write fresh pieces without ever speaking to the interviewee) is absolutely NOT industry standard, and a big paper doing it doesn't suddenly make it so.

Earlier this week, I agreed to interviews with two USA Today journalists. They wrote fantastic articles about the Cornell case that I'm proud to have been a part of. What I did not know is that their employer considers interviews to proprietary and opens up recordings to be used by any journalist.
