We are all seeing how just a few months of outsourcing your thinking to AI can wreck your brain. The wealthiest people have outsourced everything to the people around them for YEARS.
We've lived for so long with this mythology that sure, the wealthy can be cruel. But at least the cruelty has a point. Profit! I'd like us to open our hearts to other possibilities. Power doesn't just corrupt! It can also breed truly reality-distorting levels of incompetence.

Really perfect economic combo where interest rates are increasing fast enough that homeowners are facing declining home values *and* homebuyers are facing increasing monthly payments. Just pure pain for everyone involved in buying or selling a home right now.
PARCL LABS: “.. 43.3% of all US homes for sale are now undergoing price cuts. This is up 93 basis points since Wednesday. This is up 20% since April.”
I'm thinking that this is a big part of how we lost our way as a society. First we had virtues, which were about being a good human being. And then we divided the virtues into "masculine" and "feminine" based on their overlap with masculine and feminine roles as practiced in our place and time.
I have never heard of a "masculine" virtue (or a "feminine" virtue) that couldn't be more honestly described as "being a responsible adult." It's the exclusivity that makes "masculinity" toxic.

Pete is lost in terms of modern war. I use the example of this outgunned Ukrainian army officer who successfully terrorized a Russian unit for weeks because she "did the math." At the time, someone commented, "yeah, in combat, 'I did the math' beats 'I can do 100 pushups' every time."
Hegseth: "The ideological clowns are out. The patriotic cowboys are in, with testosterone testing on top."

Important: the USPS rule that SCOTUS blocked tonight was Trump’s big plan to control and restrict mail voting. But a separate policy remains in place: USPS is no longer postmarking mail as soon it gets it, which is hugely important for deadlines. So people must mail back with plenty of time.

Soooooo there was a big push to get people to sign up as poll workers over the last ~10 days or so and uhhhh We are now at 27,000 new poll workers. 💪💪💪 This is not a joke, that's twenty-seven THOUSAND people.
Here's the signup link! powerthepolls.org/creator-sara... Signing up to become a poll worker is: -A good way to help keep elections running properly! -A good way to stop doomscrolling & DO SOMETHING! -And it's better than free, it's paid work!

Their secure coding practices were not gouda nough
"A browser extension central to Belgium's national identity card system was built like Swiss cheese, letting hackers steal victims' identities and payment information, and even perform code execution on their local machines, a researcher warns" Homebrew security is usually not very secure

I think the Supreme Court's decision to legalize ubiquitous sports gambling is likely to have negative long-term consequences.
"more than a quarter of Gen Z investors saying they see gambling on sports as part of their long-term financial strategy,...More than half of young investors said they had redirected money originally earmarked for investing into sports betting over the past year," www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

There is a point at which the sheer volume of lying becomes self-reinforcing. Maybe you can get through to people with a fact-check on a couple specific points. If you have to explain that virtually everything they “know” on a topic is a lie, you end up sounding like the crazy one.
