I am a meat popscicle. runtime exceeds 40,000 hours cumulative, She / They / any trans genderqueer 🏳️⚧️ (and if you have a problem with it, you can fuck all the way off.)
Figments of my imagination may pop in and say hello- they are mostly friendly
Today I wrote about Abdul El Sayed's encounter with a Christian fascist named "Tommy," and the fine art of digging up the shameful things fascists bury under their accusations, exposing them for what they are, and then burying their lies in the hole left behind.

And last but not least: Back in the early 2000s, George W. Bush of all people greeted a trans woman he knew in college and could bother to call her a woman and use her given name.
Why are democratic candidates in 2026 having a harder time with that than George W. Bush?!
Trans voter to @aoc.bsky.social: Trans people in America feel like they've been abandoned by the Democratic Party, that we are a losing issue, that it's not worth defending us. What do you say to that?
AOC:
The wild thing is the same people who say kids can’t even be exposed to the word transgender in schools and banning books for the mere mention of a trans character are spending millions blasting out knowledge that trans people exist to kids across the country.
Conservative parents are now lamenting that the anti-trans ad blitz is teaching their children that transgender people exist.
"We're practically talking the very things we don't want into existence."

I started taking estrogen because at the very core of my being, I wanted to LIVE- I saw where I was going and knew that was not the ending I wanted for myself.
I'm not taking estrogen because I feel super duper valid when I have the ~*.'girl hormones'*.~ in my body, I'm doing it because I want the physical effects of estrogen, for fuck's sake.
I have straight up never met a trans woman whose approach to bathrooms was "I will only feel like a real woman if I can piss in the women's bathroom." I've met a lot whose approach is "I avoid public bathrooms because using any of them is dangerous to me, I would like to feel safer."
I said it a few years ago but if you, like me, got a lot of blue stuff because you were a Nerdy Ravenclaw, you can just be a Starfleet Science Officer instead. Or a Team Mystic Pokemon trainer, as I understand it. (I, however, am a Trekkie.)
I'm sorry, but "tax the billionaires" means that the government has the money it needs to fund programs that actually help everyone and keep the money in circulation in order to do more things as opposed to being locked away in some Scrooge McDuck-esque swimming pool vault.
Most billionaire wealth isn't in yachts or jewelry — that's just a few percent of it. Most is productive business capital: companies that employ people, build things, and fund research.
Tax that wealth and you're taxing the businesses that employ us all. Cato's Adam Michel explains.

If you are looking for a delicious cyberpunk book to read, may I recommend Nameless.
It’s somewhere between C.S. Friedman’s This Alien Shore and George Alex Effinger’s When Gravity Fails: there is a mystery with increasing stakes, set in a rich world that balances grittiness and hope for humanity.
Made these today! Took me forever to find red cabbage sauerkraut, but quest has been completed, and honestly - not bad! Sriracha is much better than ketchup (don't need the extra sugar). When I cook the next batch, I'm chopping the peaches.
It’s Launch Day, darling! This one is not cozy or for the faint of heart, please note the warnings, but it’s here at last!
And while you should read in the way you like the best—dude, Neil Newbon’s narration knocks it out of the PARK.

Discworld QOTD, from I Shall Wear Midnight
“There have been times, lately, when I dearly wished that I could change the past. Well, I can’t, but I can change the present, so that when it becomes the past it will turn out to be a past worth having.”
Eric W Schwartz's dislike for Windows 3.1 shines through Sabrina here in one of his artworks from 1994 from an Archive CD. And given my own experience trying to wrap my head around 3.11 recently (It's so much clunkier than Amiga Workbench and macOS from the time), I can definitely understand it!

I'm a trans woman, my life is inherently political whether I want it to be or not, so I try to keep my social media presence as a fairly bummer-free zone.
But if you live in Arizona, please vote in these midterms, 'cause I'm kinda terrified of what's on the ballot right now.
