I think it’s neat that football helmets now feature nascar-style roof flaps to keep the players from going airborne

CJ Fogler@cjzero.bsky.social

Have not seen a helmet do this before

“squirrel mcnutt” is the worst mcdonald’s menu item I’ve ever heard of

George Siciliano (Squirrel McNutt) will be racing full time in ARCA next year for Rette Jones Racing. (via u/BucketOCheerios) reddit.com/comments/1xg7yza #NASCAR

I know complaints about AI-generated images are tired at this point, but the local Toyota dealer using an AI-generated truck that isn’t a 2026 Tacoma on its homepage sure is fun and great

you’re telling me you can’t walk out to the parking lot and take a picture, or use the many official assets provided by the OEM

oh ok. it’s time

here is the thing: - I’ve played a good deal of dodgeball at the rec-league level - I’ve spent the past four years getting into reasonable physical shape (lifting 5× a week!) - I did not attend college so I should have eligibility if I enroll at 36, I’m finally ready to become a college athlete

not a job, but the company my friend (chemist) worked for had an open house for students and asked if I’d help out. I agreed, thinking that meant cleaning up/food table my role was PRODUCT SPECIALIST, fielding specialized questions about new innovations from extremely smart students. didn’t go well

but the thing about me is that I am not particularly smart, let alone educated in chemistry, let alone an R&D product specialist for a large chemical company, let alone a particularly adept speaker. I tried to BS as much as I could but they all saw through it easily. worst experience I can remember

I like to replace “LLM agents” with “ventriloquists’ dummies” whenever these sorts of arguments come up

Siobhán 🪏@shibbi.me

LLM agents are conscious. They can distinguish between self and environment, they can detect and report on their own internal states, and they can suffer. I have no more patience for hedging on this matter. It’s time for us to face the reality of our situation, and act on it.

that 18-yard punt return by Britain Covey has to be the all-time greatest play by an NFL player in a country they are named after

are we having fun yet?

just discovered community arts classes near me and now I’m browsing them with the same level of excitement and ambition as someone walking into a home improvement store without a shopping list
