Thank goodness for my emotional support squirrel.

This thread gave me a good sensible chuckle

I wonder how my old coworker Marty O'Donnell's congressional campaign is going... Oh. apnews.com/article/mart...

That this bot, which posts random stills and clips from the thousands of hours of VHS transfers on archive.org, landed on *this specific frame* feels like finding the monkey at the typewriter that managed to write Hamlet.

Hell yeah it’s live! I can’t wait to get this game to my table. Congrats @robdaviau.bsky.social and the brilliant team at @restorationgames.bsky.social www.kickstarter.com/projects/res...

BattleTech is 87% Urbies.

This is an important thread

I rolled up to my favorite coffee shop and the owner was hanging outside with the baristas passing a joint back and forth. They saw me and all shouted "HEEEEYYYY!!!!" and made me a free coffee. Sometimes Seattle is awesome.

As someone who has made movies, books, and money, I’m here to tell you friends are the real currency. They’re the thing that matters most when it’s all said and done. Fucking love the shit out of all of you who know we’re friends. Some of you have only made friends and you’re richer than most.

I really, REALLY enjoyed #TheEndOfOakStreet. Pure popcorn cinema. I am keen to see if @priscillapage.bsky.social has a take on it.

Gamedev thread worth reading

Haha holy shit

it wouldve been funny if goldfinger wasnt a movie and just a crazy song about a guy shirley bassey made up

Journalists have a duty to tell the public that the president and his aides are seriously considering suspending habeas corpus *when it is happening* rather than saving it for a book rollout over a year later

Every time I watch the Nolan Batman trilogy I like them less. Every time I watch the Reeves/Pattinson Batman I like it more.

It’s Italian Beef Day, Illinois. And I’m here at Al’s, where the legacy of this sandwich began.

…And now I see that Cozy Stickerville has been shortlisted for the prestigious Spiel Des Jahres award. Congratulations @psycorey.bsky.social and team! Well deserved.

I joined the @BackerKit Crowdfunding campaign for Old-School Essentials Demonic Grimoire! And you should too! www.backerkit.com/c/projects/e...

hey @jayapal.house.gov I’m in your district and I will absolutely donate time and money if you can make this happen

I think Robocop's Clarence Boddicker might be my favorite movie villain of all time? I don't know of another one that turns the venn diagram of "I hate this guy" and "I love watching this guy" into a complete circle quite like him.

The King County Library System has a few 3D printers around you can play with. So I am taking the afternoon to learn how they work and print some tokens for a Star Trek board game. Libraries are fucking awesome.

Look I understand the Catholic church has a bajillion problems, but with my whole heart: Fuck him up Leo.

I'm teaching myself how to play the Star Trek Captain's Chair game. It is incredibly thematic and dense with lore. It's definitely one of the heavier games I've played. Good thing the solo mode is so strong because it would never be a candidate for family game night.

These guys are the best. And they get it.

As a Costco Dad I strongly approve of this #NoKings sign

@robdaviau.bsky.social is remaking long OOP grail game QUEEN'S GAMBIT as a LOTR themed KING'S GAMBIT? Hell yeah I am there day one. Restoration Games does not miss.

Every once in a while I am reminded that the majority of people (especially young people) are not following politics. While I will die on the hill that democracy requires an engaged citizenry, these people also seem far less chronically unhappy than me. So who is to say who is doing life right?

I got to see Ray Harryhausen's original Dynamation models today and I admit it made me feel more than a little verklempt.

I just keep thinking about how Michelle Obama trying to get kids to eat their vegetables was treated like the end of America.

I finally finished the entire EXPANSE book series. And I'm happy to report that the authors really stuck the landing. The three books that comprise the final storyline (and weren't adapted on the show) were the best of the series. What a journey!

there's so much bad in the world but there's also people who lift up and carry an elderly bat around every day so he can pretend he's flying again, and that's the part of the world I think is worth fighting for

They all do this. And it feels like a reflection on the humans behind them, whose inflated careers are built on never admitting they don’t know the answer. The ‘smartest people in the room’ if ‘smart’ just means glib and facile, turning out lies with complete conviction.

@psycorey.bsky.social I picked up Cozy Stickerville and tore through it with the family over a couple days. My Stardew obsessed teen absolutely adored it. I think it's brilliant. Thanks for a wonderful and fresh gaming experience!

Arguing about Gavin Newsom is just bluesky’s enrichment activity now. Just drop it in our little terrarium and watch us go.

I rolled credits on CAIRN. Extraordinary game worthy of the praise heaped on it. I hit a difficulty spike about midway through and almost didn't finish, but I'm very glad I kept at it. By the end I felt like I had climbed a whole damn mountain myself.

I love this so much

My friends, I was finally able to stop by the hot new sandwich spot Fortuna in Seattle and try the Mortadella/pistachio cream sandwich. I'm here to tell you it's life changing.

Average Sunday show interview: OFFICIAL: we are going to dip enemies of the state into acid vats HOST: how will you pay for it? OFFICIAL: tariffs HOST: critics say tariffs don't generate acid vat money OFFICIAL: tariffs have generated more money than has ever existed HOST: thank u for ur time

I greatly enjoyed the fantasy novel Spiderlight by author @aptshadow.bsky.social

My exasperated teenager just yelled from the other room, "MOM! DAD! Grandma just made a 6-7 joke!!"

Top three Christmas songs in my house: 1: Christmas in Hollis, Run DMC 2: Fairytale of New York, The Pogues 3: Christmas Wrapping, The Waitresses Honorable mentions: All I Really Want for Christmas, Lil Jon and Kool-Aid Man Anything from Emmett Otter's Jug Band Christmas

I noticed an uptick in folks posting images on socials and asking "what is this style of art called?" And I just realized they are doing it so they can prompt AI. Yes I'm probably naive but it made me sad.

I saw the complete Kill Bill in a theater today and it was pure cinematic joy- but I bounced off of the post-credits Fortnite animated short HARD.

Damn they really went for the throat with this one
