“If the person is a U.S. citizen or otherwise lawfully in the United States, that individual will be free to go after the brief encounter.”
Justice Brett Kavanaugh
Kavanaugh stops in action: ICE tackled a non-verbal kid near his school, left him with injuries requiring surgery, and then left the scene when they realized he wasn't the person they were looking for www.independent.com/2026/10/23/i...
I really think everyone needs to pay attention to this coordinated campaign to delegitimize Muslim Americans - not just as citizens but as humans.
These increasingly hysterical attacks are a prelude to Republicans bringing us to a very, very dark place after the election.
RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."
The Founding Fathers are rolling in their graves with these lies in service of an unconstitutional war that Congressional Republicans have let happen by abdicating their Article I powers.
TRUMP: “We didn’t start the war with Iran."
LIAR! You illegally started the war on February 28 by assassinating Iran's Supreme Leader without Congressional approval.
You even gave it a name: Operation Epic Fury.
You said it would take 4–6 weeks.
It’s been 8 months.
RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."
Not that long ago, three major lower-court rulings against the executive branch on three unrelated topics would’ve been a busy *month,* and outlets would’ve rushed to write up such a run of adverse rulings.
Now, it doesn’t feel unusual when we get three on the same *day.*
It’s all … exhausting.
Federal prosecutors have brought new charges against former FBI Director James B. Comey, accusing him of mishandling national security information in October 2016, according to court papers unsealed on Monday.

Administration led by man who falsely claims "government weaponization" was used against him continues to ACTUALLY weaponize the government against his political opponents
"Guys like Obama don't see it. They don't see dirt, they don't see filth. He doesn't see broken ornaments...The White House, President Obama is a symbol of America. It has to be clean."
Feels like the focus on hygiene and cleanliness might be standing in for something here!
Trump is BIG MAD about Obama saying the White House now looks like Saddam opened a Cheesecake Factory: "He's not a smart guy. He's not smart at all ... for you to say it's a Cheesecake Factory, that just shows why you were a lousy president"
You really need to work hard to be the most obsequious member of Trump’s cabinet — by, for instance, eating lunch at Cheesecake Factory and alerting Fox Business, so they can interview you in defense of Obama’s joke about the White House decor. Well done Secretary Bessent! Your move, Doug Burgum!
This is really getting out of hand. Not just the ethnic cleansing but the fact the federal govt talks like this to the entire world x.com/ICEgov/statu...
We have a lot of other, more important issues at the moment, but one thing I hope we as a society can remedy once Trump exits the stage is the normalization of our leaders cursing in public
Sure, we all swear time and again (or more), but there's a time and place
Which is why we should move as much of our energy structure to renewables (that are largely independent from shocks in global fossil fuels markets) as possible, right?
Right?
What’s remarkable here isn’t just the sentiment, which is obviously weird and depressing, but that a media trained executive who has been doing interviews for decades thought this was an anecdote that would land well.
My second essay on how under Trump we’ve already gotten used to a level of fascism, authoritarianism, and corruption that would be unthinkable to us just years ago.
Today: The corruption of the Justice Dept and *EIGHT* scandals on par with Watergate: www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/trump-s-ty...
Around 175 House Dems just called on Trump's DOJ and DHS to end "weaponization of law enforcement" against Rep Ilhan Omar. The letter is signed by numerous ranking committee Dems, showing depth of support for Omar in leadership and signaling how Dem House will act.

Watch this with Trump at his side, remember the dissents in the birthright citizenship case — www.lawdork.com/p/six-opinio... — and understand there are no limits, no places they wouldn’t go.
Rally speaker: "Mike Rogers is an American. Abdul has a birth certificate. The birth certificate says he's a citizen of America. You know what? a birth certificate doesn't make you an American."
We've reached the point of the "end birthright citizenship" campaign where people are calling for it full-throatedly while the president stands next to them and nods approvingly
A political movement that holds as one of its main pillars the overturning of the 14 Amendment is anti-democratic
Rally speaker: "Mike Rogers is an American. Abdul has a birth certificate. The birth certificate says he's a citizen of America. You know what? a birth certificate doesn't make you an American."
*14th Amendment
Also, my point is not that wanting to violate the 14th Amendment is new for Trump et al., but that it's typically been directed at the children of undocumented immigrants while here it is stated as a bolder, more wide-reaching "blood and soil" statement that applies to anyone
We all knew who Blanche was— he covered up the Epstein files. Republican Senators confirmed him anyway. The corruption of our Justice Department is on them.
Here’s the relevant language in the DOJ lawsuit. It asks for the election not to be certified if Peltola’s margin of victory is smaller than the number of votes cast for the third-party Sullivan. (I expect this to be laughed out of court.)
storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
BRENNAN: The DOJ lawsuit demands the Alaska result not be certified if voters are confused. The confusion is defined as Sen. Sullivan not winning.
BLANCHE: That's not what it says
BRENNAN: I'm quoting from it. You are telling them not to certify it. What right does the federal govt have?
Get a look at how @nytimes.com and @propublica.org titled THE SAME ARTICLE
One title focuses on the "misgivings" a morally depraved man "following orders" has at being a modern-day SS officer
The other focuses on how his morally depraved actions "tore the down apart"
Democracy dies in the media prioritizing the feelings of those conducting depraved acts rather than the lives of those suffering from those depraved acts
Heaven forbid we talk in earnestness about one of the darkest days in America's history and denounce efforts to once again interfere with the peaceful transfer of power
Heaven forbid
BASH: The worry is that we end up in a situation where President Trump tries to overturn the election and the result of that could be like what we saw after January 6--
BLANCHE: Stop it! You gotta stop it with that! That's crazy
BASH: This is a president who has a history
There is little doubt in my mind that Jaron Alexander would have been an enthusiastic SS member had he lived in 1930s-1940s Nazi Germany
And then, too, he would claim he was just "following orders" and had no animus towards undesirables
"Within 3 months (...) Alexander and Ingram’s other patrol officer had delivered at least 70 people to immigration agents, picking off what the police chief called a 'dumbfounding' number of undocumented drivers. Within a year, they would hand over the equivalent of 10% of Ingram to ICE."
New: White House attorneys are evaluating whether to issue mass pardons to junior staffers.

When the US President first made this statement at a White House meeting in January 2018, many attendees told the public he didn’t. Now he confirms it.
What is worth sacrificing your honor and integrity?
Slobbering racist bigotry harms all Conservatives and all Liberals. It poisons America.
This is literally the end of the rule of law.
If a President can pardon people committing crimes on his behalf - and the Supreme Court says he himself can't be prosecuted for crimes committed as part of his job - then the government becomes a lawless entity able to violate our rights without limit.
Our rule of law is an extremely precious asset that underlies our prosperity and freedom.
It requires that people who have committed serious federal crimes be prosecuted and punished, whether they are Republicans or Democrats. Destroying the rule of law doesn’t help anyone’s ‘side’.
