I just have to say for those of you not in LA that in the days before the horrible raids started, there was no crisis or whatever they would let you believe. It wasn't like something was escalating out of control and somebody had to step in. THEY are creating the problems.

Men are extremely keen to explain to me that Britain *needs* a domestic steel production plant and doesn't necessarily *need* universities. Okay. Steel contributed about £1.7bn to the UK economy in 2024. Universities contributed more than £200bn.

AOC: I want to live in an America that guarantees healthcare to every person. I want to live in an America that has a living wage for every person I want to live in an America where you have free speech to express yourself and not be afraid of being put on a list or deported.

A pleasure to work with @yiannisbot.bsky.social, @dtrautwein.eu, and the @probelab.io team to enable analysis of unique blockchain and decentralised network data.

Baselight@baselightdb.bsky.social

You’ve never seen blockchain data like this before, literally! For the first time ever, Baselight & @probelab.io are making onchain infrastructure insights public, so builders can monitor, analyze, and scale decentralized systems. Query @ethereum.bsky.social , @filecoin.io, Polkadot and more!

After receiving a death threat in the comments of a social media post by an official New Mexico Senate GOP account, the Democratic chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee said he probably won't file a police report and will still hear the bill that sparked the initial controversy.

buff.lySenator calls for ‘civility’ after death threat following New Mexico GOP post • Source New MexicoSen. Joseph Cervantes (D-Las Cruces) on Thursday called for “civility” and asked Senate Republicans to condemn a death threat against him.

Got called for jury duty in CA. I no longer live there. Tried to call the number and leave a message but the voicemail is full. The only way to opt out is sending a letter with utility bill from my foreign address and it needs to be sent to a PO Box. Neither UPS nor DHL deliver to PO Boxes 🫠

As a workaround I am sending the letter via DHL Express to a trusted person. The post still hasn’t arrived because allegedly the receiver wasn’t there (spoiler: she was home all day). It’s insane to me that a “developed” country like the US can’t even deliver things like mail properly.

Growing up, I lived in smaller communities in the Philippines where the address were literally “by the big mango tree” or “next to the beach by the fisherman who fishes for anchovies”. And yet, we received mail just fine.

My analogy is this is like a party where we’re still setting up the venue right now, and given the variety that will splinter out it’s like hanging out in the lobby of a hotel while wings with very different themes are getting built out back.

it’s like the beginning of a party before people have settled into the space, there’s like no contextual energy in the background so i’m having to decide what to say in social free fall. very strange
