Apropos of nothing in particular (I mean, there is something at work that sparked the thought but I won’t go into that), I’m coming to the rally believe that one of the things most drives Americans off the rails is the thought that someone, somewhere, might be getting away with something

A corollary that sometimes appears is something like “the system is already stacked, so good for so-and-so for getting theirs” but that’s still singling out someone who deserves something, as opposed to the default that people who get good things don’t deserve it

None of this is novel, I know. It usually gets discussed in re: opposition to public benefits and racism (“those people” never deserve benefits). But it does extend well beyond that, even if it is more extreme in that context

The medical practice across the lobby from my office is doing free flu shots today. I just walked by and there was a Ghostbuster (Spengler) standing behind the table. Full uniform and proton pack. He said I don’t need to be concerned “right now”. Not sure I trust him.

Saw a post that said “third amendment” (talking about a resolution or proposed statute or something) and was pretty disappointed it wasn’t a quartering soldiers sitch.

at the graveyard doing the monster mash but all these widows are being a huge bummer about it

Started watching Lanterns, and it includes a lot of “Aaron Pierre traveling while looking cool complimentary),” which follows Rebel Ridge in doing that too.

ZZ Top Fun Fact: Ironically, drummer Frank Beard is the only member who does not enjoy frankfurters.

I rearranged a couple of apps on my phone’s Home Screen. The week or so until I get used to the new arrangement will be terrible. Thoughts and prayers thx

I just checked, and Arsenal are still Premier League champions. Didn’t really doubt it, but never hurts to check. The Hoosiers also remain college football champions, as far as I know.

This discourse is tired. What about top 5 power forwards 2001-05? Duncan, KG, Webber, Kenyon Martin, Jermaine O’Neal, probably. Karl Malone, might be too past his prime, but a case could be made, though the same for Webber. I don’t think Dirk breaks in until after 05.

This playlist starts with I’ll Believe in Anything and Rebellion (Lies). Most people would worry that their playlist can’t come out that strong, since where do you go but down? But Perpetua ain’t afraid of that. That’s why he’s the best in the game.

Should also automatically waive qualified and absolute immunity under section 1983, since the obviously have time to participate in the burdens of litigation. (Actually filing any civil lawsuit relating to their official duties should cause the waiver).

It seems to me that any government official who sues for defamation should be required to pay attorneys' fees x 3 plus costs if they drop the case, and x 5 if they lose.

When we went to Scotland, we had lunch at a “New York” style diner (we just arrived and it was open/nearby). They had a “New York” style BLT, but it just added a chicken breast. I haven’t spent much time in New York, but that’s not what really comes to mind.
