As a young man, I used to think there was no such thing as 'forbidden' knowledge, that knowledge was always good and could never be harmful. As a somewhat older man, I regard this position was folly. No one is improved by finding out what a Malfoid is. This is a knowledge that should be forbidden.

what the fuck is a Malfoid

People truly believed that this was gonna be the End Da Warz presidency when the whole point of this presidency was to meme all the gutter bigotries of the GWOT’s origins into official policy

i don't think anyone should run explicitly on banning online gambling but i do think that a democratic-led government should just quietly take steps to undermine the industry and create an inhospitable regulatory environment

Lula won in part by banning online gambling

Ramaswamy’s ad aimed to enforce the stigma against rape victims that positions them as objects of suspicion and disgust at worst, patronizing pity at best. The Acton campaign now has to pitch a rape victim as something audiences aren’t used to imagining them being: competent, capable, and dignified.

Kyle Griffin@kylegriffin1.bsky.social

The Ramaswamy ad has pushed the largest newspaper in Ohio, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, to reverse its position on endorsements. "A candidate who uses childhood sexual abuse as a weapon against the person who endured it has crossed a line that Ohioans should defend, whatever their party."

The “something” in question was the workers themselves deciding by 1966 that they no longer wanted New Dealer welfare capitalism if it meant black Americans would benefit from it while anti-war protesters were free to burn the flag

Waldo@waldo42.bsky.social

Something happened in the 70's that crystallized politics (and many other topics) into a new set of assumptions and priors. It gave rise to Reaganism and completely crushed New Deal Socialism; Dems that eventually reemerged were and still are centrists scared of their own shadows.

I know absolutely nothing about Lula except that i saw someone share a clip on insta of him in celebration kissing a trans woman politician on the cheek and oh my god is that a radical act for a politician in 2026 so lets fucking go

This undersells how hard the Judiciary Dems are swinging here

House Judiciary Democrats have uncovered reports alleging Trump was an "active participant in Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of young women in the mid-to-late 1990s."

Not to mention that a right wing criminal murdered Melissa Hortman because Minnesota Democrats are definitely not a controlled opposition to Republican oppression.

These people don’t want to win; they don’t even want to persuade. They want a world where they are a pure and rarified elite, with none of the responsibilities of actual power, only the smug gratification of being right.

Brazil going the way of South Korea. Basically around the world women are desperately trying to keep power out of the hands of incredibly stupid fascistic grifters while men keep trying to hand it over. Men are an embarrassing cringe gender.

I think its less that Trump is gay for Ohio Senator Jon Husted, and more Trump's rotten pudding brain can't hold onto any information about Husted so he's left pointing out that he's a hunky former football player because thats literally what Trump can see

I know people who enjoy the Cheesecake Factory (including ME I go to the one in the mall for my birthday and drink mimosas and then wander around) but the people who like this place are like people who like casinos: it’s gauche and they understand and appreciate that, it’s part of the appeal

THE FACTORY

people do get very defensive about the things they like but “the Cheesecake Factory has a lot of fake gold” is not something people who like that vibe are going to get mad at you for laughing at as an attack on something else, THE FACTORY is not a truly sacred space I promise

0.o The documentary pretty clearly argued she is either psychotic (unable to hold the idea that she did wrong in her head so she actively outsources it), psychotic (non conscious or sentient and thus no more capable of agency than an LLM), or psychotic (malignant narcissist).

Worth noting that Elizabeth and Billy are actively trying to run a new scam during the documentary.

“One Justice for each of the thirteen circuits, as it used to be” is, I think, a great way to frame it that sidesteps any “they are out to GET us” defense from Republicans
