I had a great day today, geeking out with the FamilyTreeDNA crew at PRONI 🤓🧬 Well done to @nifhs.bsky.social for organising an excellent event! #Genealogy #IrishGenealogy #GeneticGenealogy #AncestryHour

We are delighted to have four of the great minds at FamilyTreeDNA join us in Belfast and Derry/Londonderry to give a series of talks over two days. Hear how they have used DNA to trace their Irish ancestors and about some of the new and exciting innovations coming to FTDNA. Everyone welcome!

I just received copies of New York parish register entries that I requested over 20 months ago - that's a new record! Don't get me wrong - I am extremely grateful to be able to access these records at all, especially from across the pond - but it does make project planning difficult! #AncestryHour

Can we really trust a birth certificate? Or a census? Or even a gravestone? This article explores one of the most important skills in genealogy: separating evidence from truth, and why even official records deserve to be questioned. open.substack.com/pub/chiddick... #Genealogy #FamilyHistory

Photos capture a peaceful world—but by the 1920s land reforms and economic hardship brought this era to an end.
