I am so sick of this cavalier "how hard can it be" techbro attitude. My dudes, physics is not going to put up with your bullcrap. There is no way a crew of absolute lubbers should be renting a sailboat and taking it out by themselves. That's how you get people killed.

Oh, and if you think I'm exaggerating, how about this: Do you like having, you know, all your limbs? Do you use your fingers and toes? Because trying to mess with sails and boats when you don't know how and when you only have an AI for instructions is a great way to lose body parts.

I’m a lazy amateur genealogist with what may seem like a silly question: how distant do people go when adding to their tree? My ancestors tree runs in the 1000s. I go back & forth on adding anything beyond 6th cousins coming into the present but go further than that going back.

The real unfair competition women are being forced into with men is having women's sports constantly separated off as a distinct event which is made to compete commercially with much better funded and socially and institutionally enfranchised men's sporting events & found inadequate by that standard

#Ballhalla packed to the rafters with fans of all genders, with seats empty only because the scalpers got to the tickets first and blocked out fans that otherwise would have had seats. Fans overflowing sports bars in the City. Golden State Warriors coaches and players in the stands. It's glorious!

Amateur genealogy is spending several hours looking at period illustrations of horses, long after you've found that perfect period illustration of the breed of horse your ancestor owned 200 years ago. Because horse illustrations, what's not to like?
