In one of my WhatsApp groups there's a guy that regularly replies to questions "does anyone know..." with "I asked my AI and it said...". I wonder if such people have a clue how they sound.

I especially note the phrase "my AI" and the perception that the rest of us need someone to ask "their AI". He genuinely believes his role is valuable as the guy who asks AI, something commoners are incapable of. And yes it's always a man.

TBH, with a literal handful of exceptions, you can have the old high street back if you are willing to knock down and densify the actual buildings on, in and around the high street.

This shit just writes itself at this point. Just the name "Epic AI MegaJam" is a joke that best describes what is going on with these companies.

The Pink Panther photos from French protests are AI generated apparently. Photo on left from Armenia 2015. I fell for it because it didn't seem unreasonable. I've seen protesters in costume with my own eyes in London. This is how they'll get you with fake images, they'll keep it believable.

Je sais pas si l'info circule convenablement vu que je vois souvent les photos passer, mais les images de la panthère rose qui se fait arroser par des keufs, sont des fausses photos générées par I.A. à partir de photos de manifs en Arménie datant de 2015.

do think there's a danger of looking at shit like this, and convincing yourself it's cooler than most practical effects and stunts in movies.

Many more people want a shower that dispenses ice than a fridge that does it. Having tiny dots of ice shower down on your naked body is amazing. I experienced it once and now want it every day from mid May until late September.

New this morning: @citizenlab.ca has identified an Israeli ad tech company — one that's placed ads on NBC News — that ran a secret side platform to let spyware companies plant malicious code to hack people browsing those sites. 45 Al Jazeera employees and journalists were infected!

This seems to be pushed as a claim that Palantir's AI helps catch "bad cops". The guy was *volunteering* with the Met, and all he did was bypass the "view once" feature in WhatsApp, for images a woman sent him. Slap in the wrist seems more apt than featuring on the BBC. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Also, messages that delete themselves after viewing don't really ensure the recipient won't save them somehow. If you don't trust a person with your nudes, then don't send nudes.
