I was unaware that AJ Hawk could express human emotions like shock and disgust as directly as this.

look i’m horribly sorry for posting a pat mcafee clip here but i don’t know if this has made it to bluesky yet and it has to be seen to be believed i’ve never seen the entire mcafee ecosystem unite in disbelief that they are all smarter than their guest like this

In HS, we shot 100 free throws after practice one day, and one of the kids made 57. I remember him asking the coach what his free throw percentage was. He however is not paid to go on television and offer his opinions on matters.

Who needs the tourism revenue from RAGBRAI, a massive weeklong ride across Iowa, that is the largest cycling event in the world?

Joe Mitchell: "Thank God you're building the ballroom. Thank God you're getting rid of those awful bike lanes. We don't ride bicycles in Iowa."

In the 2024 first round series against the Knicks, Embiid averaged 33.0/10.8/5.7 playing on a bad knee and suffering from Bells Palsy.

The League should be investigating this and suspending/banning/firing those involved up to and including Lurie if he (as he almost certainly did) knew. If this is remotely true, this is utterly reckless stuff.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, who is out for the season after several blood clots were revealed in his lungs. Before the London game, Hurts was in the hospital until 4 am and did not sleep because sleep was a risk. He played the game without having slept. Crazy.

I have a rule that whenever a team I like is ahead of Real Madrid I smash the Real Madrid money line. It’s the only way to handle it.

My son is a student and professional magician living in NYC, so he knows the Art of Play folks very well and I've been to their store. It's just been surreal seeing this all play out with this very cool, but also very sleepy little store & magic venue. I suspect this will be a teaching case @ uni.

Art of Play responds after Kelly Clarkson called out the Brooklyn store, says the singing bird she asked about "isn't for sale": "Imagine our surprise when our small local business was suddenly attacked by 8 million people who have never visited our store.”

George I'm meme'ing, I don't actually care about any of this. I just think it's funny that fans of top EPL teams pretend to care about sporting/economic fairness when they clearly don't.

To make my point clear: By capping spending relative to revenue PSR inherently locks in the revenue advantage of the established Big Six (or Big 5 now, probably). Doing that, and then talking out the other side of your mouth about "fairness" sure smells like some bullshit.

I feel bad for Leicester City fans (and all the fans of teams that have gone down), but as someone with zero rooting interest, what I see here is the cabal of big, traditional EPL clubs trying to keep a monopoly on the top of the table. City broke that the only way it could be broken.

The Arse of a Crow@thearseofacrow.bsky.social

@mattdoyle.bsky.social may have been satire when you said you support MCFC's cheating due to the big teams' monopoly on talent, but if not how do you reconcile that belief with the impact their cheating had on teams like Leicester City, who narrowly missed out on UCL multiple times in that period?

The starters for the Rays and Guardians in Game 1, Drew Rasmussen and Foster Griffin, were both born on July 27, 1995. It's the first time in MLB Postseason history that both starting pitchers were born on the same day. 🤯

I love when starters come out of the bullpen during the postseason "for the first time in their careers" and then add 4 mph to their pitches and look like the best relievers on their team. #noclosersintheHOF

The people we interview at SR often express surprise and appreciation that we pay them for any one-off work products we ask them to produce ahead of time. That‘s messed up. If you run a company, pay people for this prep work. We will also cover child care if needed for you to interview.

I don't think we've seen him chip the keeper yet. Definitely expecting to cross that off my bingo card soon.

Neiman Marcus closed its downtown Dallas flagship on Wednesday. The store played a notable role in the history of desegregation in Dallas. Previously, Black shoppers across the US could enter department stores, but they weren't allowed to try on clothes without adhering to certain conditions. 🧵

Wow, that's really awful that someone would do that.
