Got this working today. The UI is not completely hooked up, but last week we quietly migrated all Roomy spaces to their own, legit ATProto accounts! Today I started getting things integrated so that any of the space's admins can manage the account from inside Roomy.

I've just finished the first, barely-working prototype of our new arbiter server! It's not ready for use just yet, but we're going to start experimenting with it in @roomy.space as a way to make every space a fully-fledged ATProto account that can be seamlessly managed by the Roomy space's admins.

Our migration last Friday went great and Roomy stayed up without babysitting all week-end! Everything went according to plan that time. 😀 Today's devlog talks more about what the next steps are and how we plan to get Roomy running completely on ATProto.

Phew! I just finished a big migration of the @roomy.space data to our refactored AppView! The new refactor stores the Roomy messages directly in the AppView instead of on our separate Leaf server, which was made for our pre-ATProto architecture. The goal is to improve simplicity and reliability.

Another arbiter progress report! An attempt at a goups standard for ATProto. This week we talked to @habitat.network and it got us thinking about how we could inter-op, even with other projects that can't use the arbiter. Now we've got a draft lexicon that I'm hoping can work for both of us.

I just finished a progress report / summary of the arbiter server that we've been working on at @roomy.space. The goal is to have an interoperable standard for group membership management on top of the ATProto permissioned space proposal. The last couple weeks were full of progress & discussion!

At @roomy.space we've been cooking up the design for the next, ATProto-native iteration of Roomy, and that includes private data on protocol! The first component that we're working on is a group membership service that we're calling the "arbiter". Here's full overview of the design so far!

So the issue here was that a Safari bug is truncating, i.e. just chopping the end off, of websocket messages over a certain size in @roomy.space. This makes the messages fail to parse and crashes the websocket. This isn't even in JS, this is in the browser itself.

I just got my first messages over the firehose / jetstream! Thanks to @mary.my.id for the nice atcute libs! I've been here for over a year now, so I suppose it's about time I tried this out myself! 😄 I'm pulling @stream.place messages that _might_ end up in @roomy.space somehow. 👀

Wrote down some thoughts about making @roomy.space more ATProto-native. It's not an established plan or anything, but I think there's a possibility that we make Roomy as "on-protocol" as possible, and I'm excited at the thought of getting to contribute more to the ATProto ecosystem than we are now.
