✨ My new library gpuix-svelte is out! Build native desktop apps for macOS, Windows and Linux using Svelte and gpui, a Rust-powered graphics engine. Excited to see what you build! #svelte #native gpuix-svelte.stanislav.garden

gpuix-svelte.stanislav.gardengpuix-svelte: Build native desktop apps with SvelteA Svelte renderer for native desktop apps on macOS, Windows and Linux. GPUI, the UI framework behind the Zed editor, draws them, with no DOM or webview.

I was explaining the compromise and roughly what a key generation ceremony is and my brother remembered a picture of a shirt we saw recently that makes the perfect meme for this:

I'm going through the Creative Shrimp @blender.org lighting course and I made an original render of a pistol from the Virtual Museums of Małopolska. This one turned out really great, and I'm learning a lot about lighting and color!

This image took 16 seconds to render on my Laptop's Nvidia GTX 1650. I'm really excited about how powerful, beautiful, and crazy fast Blender's EEVEE render can be.

For the past year, I've been working hard on HappyView. I've built so many features, and there are now hundreds of apps built on top of it. It's been a long, winding ride, and I've loved every minute of it. #atproto

HappyProto@happyproto.at

Hi, we're HappyProto. We help you build on atproto... without the hard parts. You create the app, we'll run the backend: auth, private data, scripting, and an API over 46 million accounts. Welcome to atproto on easy mode. Join the waitlist at happyproto.at. #atproto

For the first picture in D'ni I did some trickery to make the crown cast a shadow on and reflect the balcony so it'd look like it was actually there. I felt like kind of cheated with the Uru screenshot, though, so I made another render of just the crown, too.

One day is really not a lot of time to get a 3D scene out. I will almost surely not be able to keep up, but the time constraint is pretty interesting for forcing me to try and get a feel without being able to perfect things. Also doing patience without showing a person was hard to figure out. 😆

I made a #MYSTober feed so that I could pin it to my Bluesky sidebar. So far it's just all MYSTober posts chronologically, but I might try to make it more probable that posts with more likes will float to the top or something like. Just trying this out as an experiment and seeing what happens.

the secret mvp of a supernote is really how focused the experience is. I did not expect to this thing to cover my entire process bouncing between note taking/scriptwriting (by hand! gasp!) and concept sketching, but it makes it so easy because there are zero distractions and minimal menu navigation

sustainability doesn't happen overnight obvs! finding my feet rn in a bit of a transition moment. thanks so much for your support last week 🩵

I learned Lambda Calculus years ago through this interactive tutorial and it blew my mind. lambdaexplorer.com It was my first introduction to the idea that you could actually compute things using only substitution, and that the meaning of a program comes from the way it interfaces with world.

Excellent piece by @seldo.com I’ve noted some connections on Semble: semble.so/url?id=https... imo protective, ‘fair source’ licensing applied sparingly is perfectly compatible with commercialized registries and helps draw clearer boundaries where there currently are none.

I have been writing this post about the economics of open source, on and off, for 13 years. I wasn't expecting to end up at "Microsoft should send corporations a huge bill" but nothing else we've tried has worked. https://seldo.com/posts/nobody-pays-for-open-source-we-can-force-them-to/

idk, having worked all my life as the soft-skills weirdo alongside brilliant coders, my sentiment was never “we need 10x more engineering output” my impression was always: engineers are overburdened with responsibilities and need more breathing room; we’re asking too much instead of thinking small.

having one of those deep deep deep exhaustion from the injustice of years of precarity possibly leading nowhere days 😮‍💨😭 if anyone has a lead on something to help keep me afloat it would mean a lot! reposts appreciated also x

Meri@meri.garden

I'm very grateful to have been entrusted with @erlend.sh's Discourse payout to keep me above water while working on this, and with that narrow $1.5k/month runway I've worked harder than I ever have. That money's run out now, so please know that if you're in a position to support us at all

Super excited for this! While I've been working on private data and permissions for ATProto @meri.garden gets almost all the credit for pushing the Roomy app over the last several "finish lines". 🌟 This is a big deal for Roomy's sustainability long-term.

Help fund our lil indie operation! Larger legacy communities on Discord can now pay $30/month to unlock live bridging at scale for the purpose of either safe-keeping or incrementally transitioning their community to Roomy and the atmosphere. should we add a $5/month good-vibes-only supporter plan?

Just installed the @semble.so Firefox plugin and I really like that it only needs permission to access my list of tabs and their URLs, not the web page contents or anything like that. Very handy for adding stuff to my collection. I think I might use it quite a bit more now.

Excited for this! Just today I met with an open science builder who told me that he thinks "Slack for science" could be a killer app... Just imagine the potential for a Slack for science that also interoperates with the full atproto stack 🚀
