This is a strawman from Dominato; no one at Vision Zero wants to abolish roads. But we're curious to know, when she says "we have to strike a balance", what's her acceptable number of deaths on our roads?

Remember to never ever vote for conservatives. They don’t care about safety. All they care about is the profits of their wealthy supporters in the auto, oil and other industries at the expense of our health and safety and the environment.

The main reason 10th Ave is having so many problems during the Broadway detour is that this is what it looks like at the best of times. It's just a normal car road with no actual protected bike space and the bare minimum of traffic calming, most of which takes the form of ignorable signs.

This happens every day with a collective shrug from most in NYC - particularly the cops and elected officials - while every single crime that happens in the subway is put under a microscope.

again, ignition interlocks are one of those things where there basically *really is* a technological solution to the problem that greatly mitigates that tradeoffs, and it's a policy failure that they aren't mandatory for five years after your first DUI.
