I don't hate Digger. It's a billion times better than Inarritu's last film, Bardo. Bardo is abysmal, self indulgent, pretentious garbage, but Digger's just more-political Wes Anderson. I think people will look on it pretty fondly in 20 years
Thinking about games more critically means being able to recognize when something is good, and when something is entertaining, and how those are two difference axes on the spectrum and not synonyms. But what's really interesting to me is how by cultivating this you inevitably...

Not much of a point here except that I play a lot of games I'm going to talk about with...

I wondered who would download "an ai that can run your life" if they had literally even googled something and been forced to use AI recently, and "facebook market reseller" actually makes sense
So uhhhhhh… Apparently meta's muse "AI" is just straight up doxxing people to strangers on FB marketplace??? This has the potential to hurt so so many people, and I genuinely wonder how long before they roll out a fix for it.
Sony told a tribunal that physical games proved PlayStation owners weren’t locked into the PlayStation Store.
54 days after the trial ended, Sony announced it was killing the disc.
This is the 13-year story of how Sony removed every alternative.

2XKO is ending development. Did you know that just 19 days after their release, the same algorithm I talk about destroying Highguard is the reason over half the 2XKO staff was laid off? That's because it's the same company running both.
Highguard launched with 97,249 players and was gone 45 days later. I played it before the servers went off; mined the rocks, ran the empty maps, got killed repeatedly by a lightning spear I could not see.

The part I still think about though? In Highguard's final week, a small crowd of trophy hunters showed up specifically because it was dying. They knew the servers had a countdown, but developers were still shipping content updates.
Devs were performing CPR and players came to hold their hand
The scores are the most misunderstood number in this story. Highguard is 63 on Metacritic. That is not the review profile of a disaster; that's the profile of *mediocre.* Concord's problem was that nobody wanted it. Highguard's problem was that fine is fatal when your funding is measured in days.
Wrote a quick little review for Cat Mail Co., which let me realize my dream of working at a relaxed post office (while also being a cat).

I'll restate that I *enjoyed* the film a lot. I just think it's a poorly made film that I liked. And I'm super happy to see an original film and not just Scream 17
Our resident Pokéxperts have decided that they know how to fix the mainline games. Tell them they're wrong (but they're right), or let us know how YOU would fix the games.
"Better graphics" is the free space on the bingo, you can't just say that
People have started getting their Limited Run Games Sonic x Shadow Generations CEs after the length delay for ‘essential quality control’, and uh
yep, they sure pulled a Limited Run Games

Apologies to CJ here, but this made me realize there needs to be a solution for nfluencers like me to get content that I care about without receiving 100+ emails a week
Cons like PAX really hyper highlight this as you end up getting 3-500 emails from deserving devs that end up getting ignored
Have you ever made a trivia show to lie to your friends? Have you done that AND made them hate you as much as @thegoldenbolt.net did, to get this reaction?
Play along and understand the pain we felt. Every question is...mostly right, find out what's wrong!

Had an idea for an insane Bluesky project starting next year.
“The Greatest Game of All Time.”
Every week I’ll provide a list of games from a system and ask for everyone’s Top 10. I’ll then weigh the entries and have a top list from that system.
perhaps the most egregious thing that happened with the Future Class was when The Game Awards took money from Old Spice in the name of the FC & simply... pocketed it
it wasn't used to fund Future Class initiatives, it wasn't used to help lift marginalised developers
they just profited from us
I was a member of TGA Future Class 2022 and lemmee tell ya, my skin has been crawling since
pretty much every interaction I had with them (few) & story I heard about other members' interactions with them (many) was bad. & by bad I mean, so many shades of being used as photo op tokens & nothing more
