Heartwarming: Grown man reads one book, has entire life changed

Crub@crub.org

The median American read two books in 2025. You can outdo them with a copy of Curious George and The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and then that Joe Pera book about being stuck in the bathroom. In the meantime, we wanted to talk about how nice it's been to just sit down and read. youtu.be/sIg-huTuQvQ

Akane-banashi boldly answers the questions no other manga would ever dream of, like "how much aura can a character have while pantomiming eating noodles"

When yall were kids (think like.. age 4-12) what was the coolest character design you had ever seen that was super formative?

Any of us with a modicum of a platform have some form of responsibility to at least...gesture toward the idea that actual humans with actual lives are behind the things we enjoy. To engender our audience to consider that just a little more. Not to immediately jump to mental IP chessboard placements.

There's room to be a fan of things. It isn't wrong to hold a candle for Cartoon Bear to return. But to so quickly leap to it in a slack-jawed way is only teaching your audience to detach from what they engage with and view everything more and more through a lens of "Will my childhood return?"

I've been online for a long time, you can dig through old LP parts and streams and posts and find me reacting similarly to bad industry news. However, at some point you have to become a little more aware of reality. We're veering too far into depersonalizing from everything we intake.

We've got a few parts of this out by now. I think we're nearing the end of our playthrough, but Kevin's character had a spiritual vision at the end of our last session. So I'm unsure where this could go next...

Chris, Kevin, and Sean have been playing Big Walk. They've also been recording their playthrough and posting it on our Patreon for free. They're also sharing the link here so you can watch too. Part 1: www.patreon.com/crub/posts/w...

The Sonic series is "for an upper pre-school audience", which means minds are going to melt when it's actually for kids and us 30+ year olds feel like we need to have an opinion on it
