TTF gas prices have crossed the 100€/MWh mark!

Jordi Schröder Bosch@jordischroeder.bsky.social

We're heading into an expensive winter. While still well below 2021-2022, gas prices are currently very high by historical standards. It feels farcical that we've had five years to prepare, yet European conservatives have done everything in their power to undermine Europe's energy independence.

Budget 2026: No change to VAT on plug-in solar :-( Boiler Upgrade Scheme (heat pumps) is continuing and funded at current levels :-)

The Apex venue in my hometown of Bury St Edmunds has had an eco makeover, including a ground-source heat pump. As a kid I used to visit the cows in the cattle market that the Apex was built on. Probably smells better now.

The Apex decarbonisation works are officially complete! Cllr Waterman, Leader of the Council, joined Cllr Kelly and Cllr Shipp on a tour to see the building’s improvements, including heat pumps, LED lighting and the removal of gas systems that were replaced with more energy efficient equipment!

☀️🔌 Plug-in solar is getting closer to UK homes. UKSOL has become the first company to secure UK regulatory compliance for its plug-in solar panels, ahead of plans for the products to hit the retail market. Could plug-in solar make it easier for more households to generate their own clean energy?

Britain has a highly resilient energy system. It's right that we continue to make sure that always remains the case. It is categorically untrue to claim that blackouts are an "engineering certainty". This is simply sensationalist nonsense.

Eurosky launches new web app mu.social. A drop in replacement for bsky.app. It is reachable over IPv6 but currently still depends on some IPv4-only Bluesky resources. Working fine for me, looks exactly the same bar the colour scheme. Might try moving over to the Eurosky PDS later.

Muve to the beat. Muve the conversation. Muve mountains. Today @eurosky.social announces mu.social, a new microblogging app to experiment with the future of social! 🪩💖

Now running on eurosky.social PDS. The move was straightforward and quick. The Eurosky EU-HAUL tool was useless, it's limited to 5 concurrent moves so I gave up after a few attempts. PDSMoover worked fine. This PDS is also IPv4 only :-(

Coming soon to St Albans: European ISP DIGI brings their great value super-fast fibre Internet to Herts. They started taking orders in the North of the county this week. 30-day rolling contract, Wi-Fi router supplied. There maybe a setup fee, waiting to hear. Official Website: digi.uk

Update: I've cancelled the DIGI UK service. Going to the more expensive Toob broadband (£22), perhaps DIGI will have gotten their act together in 2 years when the contract is up.

I suspect Ellie Goulding (13:15) will be first up on the iPlayer streams today as they usually start a bit late. Line up could be straight from my Spotify following list. 😃 Maisie Peters, Holly Humberstone, CMAT, Rachel Chinouriri. Great stuff!
