BREAKING via @schotthappens.com: A judge has ordered the immediate release of Arturo Gamboa, the SLC protester who did not fire his weapon but was booked for murder.

NEW: A protester was shot and killed at the Salt Lake City 'No Kings' march. A man is in police custody, booked on suspicion of murder—but not the one who fired the gun. From video, witnesses and interviews, @schotthappens.com and I tried to piece together what really happened Saturday. Our report-

I prefer to see an intergenerational coalition in the Democratic Party. In a rapidly aging nation, that is the only winning formula.

The NYC mayoral is the first big race where we’ll see a generational fight over the future of the Democratic party - it won’t be the last. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/19/o...

Northerners in the 1850s didn't realize what they were up against until a Senator was almost beaten to death on the Senate floor by a Southerner. What will it take before the Dems wake up to the danger they're in?

Kevin M. Kruse@kevinmkruse.bsky.social

Democratic senators need to stop pretending that GOP senators are their “good friends across the aisle” and realize many of them are just lying sociopaths who are actively fanning the flames of violence against them.

With the exception of a hint of a badge peeking out from beneath backwards hat guy’s untucked shirt, there’s no visual indication that any of these guys are law enforcement officers—much less authorized to use force inside a frickin courthouse.

This is an absolute betrayal of promises made by Congress to protect the people who protected American soldiers. A betrayal by people who think American greatness is based on half-assed military parades rather than being a credible ally to those that risked their lives for America.

An Afghan man who worked as a translator for the U.S. military during the war was detained by ICE after showing up for a hearing inside of a federal courthouse in San Diego, his attorney says. He fears that if he returns to Afghanistan, he would be tortured or even killed, @nbcsandiego.com reports.

Schiff: "One thing that got lost in the horrendous treatment of Alex Padilla today was what Kristi Noem said at that press conference in saying it was necessary to have these troops there to 'liberate the city from the socialists' ... the fact they would use the military that was is unconscionable."

The DHS’s use of force on Senator Padilla was uncalled for, cruel, and unacceptable This was a deliberate attempt to intimidate an elected official whose only offense is standing up for the voiceless But it’s not just about Senator Padilla, it’s about every person who dares to speak truth to power

This needs to shouted out by ALL MEDIA Kristi Noem is telling a judge that the reason the National Guard and Marines were called into LA was that LA and California, in general, has a ‘socialist governor and mayor. That is Fucking Political and FUCKING ILLEGAL The judge must END this ILLEGAL ACTION

This is an assault on a United States Senator by a reckless, lawless Administration with no respect for the Constitution. We will not be silent. We will not be intimidated. We stand with Senator Padilla.

The violent detention of Sen. Alex Padilla was terrible. But what DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said right before it might be even more frightening—and it's just one of several authoritarian messages coming from Trump and his comrades.

Senator Padilla wasn't the first elected official to face intimidation from the Trump administration for doing his job, but he must be the last. Tell DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and FBI Director Kash Patel to put an end to these abuses of power immediately.

MAGA didn’t care that cops were being bludgeoned to death at the Capitol during their Jan 6 insurrectionist coup plot but suddenly care about ICE agents being protested against for carrying out their racist human trafficking kidnapping abduction agenda. Funny how that works.

This happened 2 months ago. It’s just rage-farming to push merch. Plenty of awful stuff is happening right now; there's no need to recycle old stories like they’re breaking news. This only adds to the noise & confusion, & that’s exactly how disinfo & distrust spread. archive.is/2025.04.18-2...

BREAKING: Federal agents in plain clothes and unmarked cars tried to snatch 1st graders from LA elementary schools—told staff they had “parental consent.” They lied. When pressed, they HID THEIR IDS. DHS admits they sent them. This wasn’t a welfare check. It was a test run for a police state.

The fact the president of the United States just floated the idea of arresting a governor should be huge news. But Trump is trampling on the US constitution so frequently it just seems like noise. It's not. These are all threats to our country. Every patriotic American should be furious at Trump.

It doesn’t matter to Trump that Pete Hegseth endangered U.S. armed forces by sharing attack plans with his wife, his brother and a journalist. It matters to Trump that Hegseth is willing to order American troops to attack American civilians. That’s why Hegseth is there.

Last night, someone recommended NOT voting. Here is a printout of my voting record from the Board of Elections. I am not going to listen to anyone who wants me to give up my power to vote.

Tesla stock has been going up, despite collapsing sales. Investors are treating it like a meme stock, and that was made super obvious today. Musk is criticizing Trump, and the Trump-lovers are punishing the stock, as far as I can tell.
