Just released: a new Nobel Prize lesson to share with your students.
It's a deep dive into the 2026 Nobel Prize in Physics, which turned a giant block of ice in the south pole into a detector for mysterious particles from space.

From NY Times article on newly-reopened Goya Museum in Spain: If I already had plenty of reason to dislike "immersive" art experiences, looks like for this projected image they inexplicably tweaked the colors in Goya's famed "Third of May" painting. Why..?? Art museums get ever closer to Disneyland
NEW: DSA's National Political Committee passed two resolutions today aimed at Los Angeles mayoral candidate Nithya Raman, beginning processes that could result in DSA-LA being forced to rescind its endorsement of her this weekend and/or Raman herself being expelled from DSA by January.
we're testing a new beta version of the Notifications tab!
it has new tabs to help you notice priority notifications, and it uses new grouping logic to reduce noise (e.g. when one person likes a bunch of your posts).
disclaimer: it's a beta, not a final version. send us your feedback! :)
If weird things are happening with your feed/posts loading right now, it's a spooky Halloween thing, definitely not a mysterious glitch that we're investigating

And here’s the epilogue — a squirrel undid my work sometime this afternoon. This is what we could salvage
Thankfully the other pumpkins we did are intact!
I said at the beginning of this thread that Judge Bennett was the one to watch (likely in the middle of this court), and he's unequivocal so far that DOJ should lose both procedurally and on the merits.
Judge Butamay has not said much. He's the one most likely to side with DOJ.

Sup nerds, I've been working my ass off over the last couple weeks to get this finished, and now that it is, I'm excited to show you what I've been up to: Words About Work is now The Common Route. Same great movement reporting as I've been doing, but a much more expanded scope. I hope you dig it
stumbled on a set of incredible 1970s illustrations in some government reports, so had to spend a day collecting them into a website to share with my friends on the computer: nickseaver.net/paperwork
After a hurried explanation, my daughter thinks Elizabeth Holmes is a vampire and keeps saying in a deep voice “I want your bloooood” which is I guess good enough?
There’s a werewolf-themed slot machine where these guys are flexing their hands menacingly but actually it just looks like they’re giving each other shampoos.
