"In YouTube Shorts, a new “Remix” option will let users write a prompt to remix a creator’s video by changing its style or even adding themselves into the video, without changing the basic context of the video." Only fascists will use this feature and only fascists will enjoy watching.

“With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied chains us all irrevocably.” Picard's speech from "The Drumhead" remains powerful, and even more important than ever. youtu.be/K5Po40kvI9c

I don’t want to hear “Oh, it’s just a poster.” It’s just a poster, it’s just the opening credits, it’s just a few pieces of background art. This is all about trying to normalise AI by sneaking it in the back-door. Like someone mixing bits of shit in your dinner until you’re okay with eating shit.

Google published principals in 2018 barring its AI technology from being used for sensitive purposes. Weeks into President Donald Trump’s second term, those guidelines are being overhauled.

I was listening to an interview with Ayana Elizabeth Johnson a few days ago who said we need more stories in Hollywood depicting a solutions oriented future beyond dystopia. My first thought: Star Trek’s been there this entire time. Gene Roddenberry+ have given us a lot on which to build.
Six decades later, Star Trek may still be the only franchise based on the ideas that diversity is strength, justice is the measure of civilization, bounty is to be shared, peace is worth the price, and all these things can be achieved. We need more shows that look ahead and find goodness.
