I wonder how much that Reuters story played into tonight's result.

MeidasTouch@meidastouch.com

🚨 BREAKING: Lula is projected to WIN reelection as president of Brazil, defeating Flávio Bolsonaro, son of former President Jair Bolsonaro and an ally of Donald Trump. The projection comes just ONE DAY after Reuters exposed a Trump administration effort to help return the Bolsonaro family to power.

Additional context is needed here before people go down the rabbit hole of thinking the fix is in. GA requires 50% to win an election or there is a runoff. Collins strategy appears to force a runoff and win there. That's why he said 51% was wrong and mentioned 48%.

lol -- on Newsmax, Mike Collins admits that he's at least 7 points down on Ossoff, but says "it doesn't really matter"

ActBlue according to its website only takes 3.5% of all donations. Well run charities only spend up to 35% on fundraising.

Just as a private equity firm buys out a corporation and strips it for parts, a consultant class is raiding the Democratic Party and getting “generationally wealthy” along the way New from me and @adambonica.bsky.social newrepublic.com/article/2163...

If you are wondering this isn't horrible news for Anthropic but more of a humble brag. It means they believe the company is worth much more than they estimated. Current shareholders ownership will be diluted. It's a journal entry and not cash. The real loss is 8 billion which is 5 billion better.

Do you know how the police prevent crime? Eyeballs on the street. You know what's much more cost effective, bring much more joy to people? Dogs and dog walkers. Criminals are rational and higher chances of being seen ie caught is the most effective method. www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/cani...

“In recent years, many Americans have decided that their country’s problem was that it had too many police officers, when in fact its problem was that it had too few,” Malcolm Gladwell writes:

Rep. Delia C. Ramirez has introduced a bill that would abolish not just ICE, but the DHS altogether, repealing the 2002 law establishing the agency and replacing it with one focused on protecting civil and human rights.

There are probably a multitude of reasons one positive one might be greater acceptance has led to less children born with LGBTQ genetics. Less LGBTQ people have entered cis relations resulting in lower passing down of the genes. This isn't saying it's the only cause but an out of the box one.

Young teenagers are less likely to identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual than a few years ago, according to a new analysis. “It really does look like a free fall,” Jean Twenge, a professor of psychology, said. “But what’s causing it is unclear.”

This mainstream Democrats. They push meaningless shit like making AI or artificial intelligence use mandatory but actually take a public stance that angers the donor class, nah.

NBC News' Claudio Lavanga asked Pope Leo if he had anything to do with Chicago White Sox 'miraculous' historic ride to the playoffs during the pope's flight to Paris.

When did 60 Minutes become a sequel to the Wire? That is Frank Sobotka doing a story on why the Harbor needs to be drudged?

60 Minutes@60minutes.bsky.social

New correspondent Ross Douthat says "no story looms larger than the latest developments in artificial intelligence." The technology and its impacts will be a major focus of 60 Minutes reporting.

The most important thing is we all have false memories. The human brain is not a DVR and there are plenty of false memories of tragic events. While it's fun to make fun of assholes for racist memories, the larger issue from this is how much we believe eye witness testimony. How many people are..

eye witnesses testimony. How many people are convicted from false memories? It isn't because the witness is lying just mistaken about what happened. Everyone is susceptible to outside influences adjusting memories. Why things like double blind suspect id are extremely important and so forth.

Besides the obvious, they don't seem to talk about the best manner to handle the issues from having a low birth rate, immigration, in a positive light. Shit, for the economy, immigration is probably better than birth because society doesnt have to invest resources into immigrants as it does w/ kids.

Fox News complains that underage teenage girls aren’t getting pregnant enough: “The problem is teens and young adults. From ages 15-19, the fertility rate is down 70% in the last 2 decades, which means we are telling people who are young not to have babies.”

One Carney is banking on the GOP losing the midterms, which will weaken Trump. Two, the Democratic nominee winning in 28. Three, nothing unites a nation behind a political leader as a common enemy. Trump fills that role perfectly.

Sean Duffy: "The fact we provide their security for them, and they take advantage of us? ... I think you're gonna see Mark Carney come to the table very very quickly, because it's gonna be devastating for his country."

Why are people shocked by this? The part of the job of a CEO is to keep share prices high. Since shares represent a claim in future cash flows, this is just a CEO saying there will be significant growth to our current cash flow regardless of the probability.
