Every so often, there is a team of destiny that defies logic and is just a whole bunch of fun which is just a no-brainer bandwagon team. And I'm glad its the Brewers, because the last one was the Knicks and I'm sorry, but I can't have feel good vibes for a team from NYC or LA.

I don't think the Brewers winning the World Series should distract us from the rather severe systemic economic problems in the game... But it would be really fucking cool.

I feel like I'm being unreasonably judgmental about my ex-wife right now because I'm furious at opposing counsel on this case I'm on, and even if its not fair to her, I need someone to take it out on, emotionally. I am an asshole.

Finished the Tyson doc on Netflix and he's smarter and more media savvy than people give him credit for. He knows that being open is the ticket to a redemptive arc...

Everyone he loved died on him, Everyone he trusted betrayed him. He could have been the greatest fighter who ever lived, but he pissed it away, and I think more than anything, that will haunt him.

He's not Ali or Louis or Patterson.... he's Sonny Liston if he lived. Liston's a tragic figure as well, but that doesn't mean he wasn't a bad man who did bad things. Every time Tyson fought an elite fighter, he lost. He could've been the best, instead he's making excused why he lost.

That said, he has always been a simply fascinating figure. He's introspective when he wants to be, but also has massive blind spots to the harm he has caused in his life. But I don't think he's a monster. He's a product of his circumstance, and honestly... I think he's still sad and lonely

I don't like Abbott at all, but him going full bore on NO STATE INCOME TAX as his finishing kick is a pretty good strategy. I hope Hinojosa can hold him off

And I'm happy to do those things because I love her and I love the things she loves doing. Supporting your kids passions is the best part of parenting. That light goes on, ya know? But we also send subtle messages as a society that dads don't matter and that shit isn't cool. It hurt my feelings

On the plus side, I got officially added to the Band Moms listserv at her school. I've shown up for everything for 3 months and they finally trusted me to make the cut.

It wasn't technically my weekend with the kids, but Lil Posette spent Friday night with me so I could help with halftime, then wake up at 5 AM to make the bus next morning, move equipment for their performance, and have to make TWO trips to BFE because she forgot her shoes.

Had a work meeting from 4 to 5. Lil Poseur had trunk or treat from 530 to 730. Lil Posette was playing halftime for a 7 o'clock kick. No room for error, Superdad delivered. The kids even got fed and I helped with the halftime and loading the truck. Get me a beer.

Y'all also dont know how shitty TV was. Yeah its too expensive now, but shit was bad. Y'all just remember the 5 or 6 good shows.

a 25 year old could not comprehend how bad the dining options were in the median American town in 1996

Two nights a week, the networks would all air horribly edited movies in pan and scan to fit the different dimensions of the square TV. These were among the highest rated shows every week.

this week's edition of Sports! The Newsletter also features a special guest appearance from @celebrityhottub.bsky.social, writing about a topic so VILE and PERVERSE that he couldn't cover it on his own podcast. (It's Jim Harbaugh)

This is actually my opinion on Phantom Menace instead.

6. TLJ is not a good movie or bad movie. It’s a good montage of brilliant set pieces with nominal connective tissue.

A great movie, but its also a great insight into how you convert lonely, disaffected kids into Nazis

The rare "great man" movie which actually demystifies the man. Yeah, they passed the 13th Amendment via bribery and dirty tricks.
