I'm here to howl into the void, not to build an audience. If I follow you, it's because you posted something great.

I'm here to troll and shitpost, and occasionally opine to the void. I have zero interest in building an audience. If I follow you, it's because you posted something great. If you follow me, and I'm not already following you, expect to be blocked immediately.

I disavow everyone. Let's work backwards from there. Brotherhoods I avow will be released at a later date. Sisterhoods I avow include the Dixie Chicks, Pointer Sisters, and some Spice Girls.

The guy doing the dogpound to this is certainly making a choice.

Trump: "We will pass the death penalty for large scale drug dealers, human traffickers, and anybody who ever kills a police officer or law enforcement official"

Wait until you learn that most "financial advisors" and "wealth planners" just use basic investment software and have no special insight into much of anything, and that 99% of their actual job is acting as hand-holders for wealthy people as they endlessly worry about things like what new car to buy.

I just watched a block of raw '90s MTV that someone clearly uploaded from an old VHS. There was an ad for one of those discount long-distance cards. Jesus ... remember having to use phone cards? Kind of better in some ways. Kept check-in calls to the fam short, at least.

i'm tired of seeing “escalating ai capabilities” reported as if it is a fact. let's be clear this claim does not rest on transparent, well-defined, independently validated metrics, but is inferred from model behaviours elicited by humans and measured through opaque, poorly designed evaluations

ME: it is the middle of September and it is almost 80 degrees outside. it still feels a little early to be drinking pumpkin spice coff- STAPLES: merry christmas you piece of shit

One of the best parts about coming of age before the internet is being 100% confident that we don't need any of this shit. Not just AI, crypto, IoT and streaming media, or even social media and smartphones. Email? Don't need it. Online retail? Nah. Websites? Meh. We can just stop this at any time

I get that it would be a real loss for many people, and that it would be a hassle for virtually everyone, but as a society we need to remember that all of this tech stuff is optional. It doesn't need to come at the cost of the stuff we care about, like health care and social justice.

I'm not even suggesting that we stop using these technologies. What I am saying is that we need to start getting comfortable telling the dipshit, rent-thirsty wannabe oligarchs "No thanks, we're good." We need leaders and representatives who will tell them "Nah, not interested."

The best part about Saturday morning Bluesky infighting is that you can just unfollow everyone involved and get on with your life. Which person has the true moral highground? Who was rightfully offended, and who needs to grow up an apologize? Doesn't matter. Both lose access to my attention.

This is such a great thread because it tells you instantly how to answer the supposedly intractable regulation problem: liability, potentially joint liability, for the person who set up the AI system.

If I was just a little more condescending, I'd start a web series where I sit down with someone who thinks LLMs are inherently harmful, help them install one on their laptop, and then we sit and wait for it to do something harmful on it's own. 30 minutes of uncomfortable silence. "Any moment now..."

Not exactly. Brain-friend opportunist and autocracy supporter Joe Rogan three some spaghetti at the wall in an attempt to salvage his podcast's declining download stats so he can retain his unmerited wealth.

USA TODAY@usatoday.com

Podcast megastar Joe Rogan said he has been left-leaning throughout his life and called Donald Trump supporters 'nuts' in a recent podcast appearance.

James Dean seemed like the kind of guy who would have developed some troubling behaviors and personal views had he stuck around.

do you ever wonder how some of the greats who died young would have turned out to be as they aged? obvs jim morrison would have gone the elvis route. any other predictions? I could see john lennon having gone in a very elton john-esque direction

When they eventually make a movie about this time, please don't put the male politicians in good suits. IMO, the ugly, low rent tailoring should be part of the story.

This is an epic, reputation-ending level of cringe.

Tilly Norwood has been billed the first AI "actor" in Hollywood which raises questions about what awards synthetic performers should be nominated for. In an exclusive chat with CNN's Elizabeth Wagmeister, Tilly Norwood responded to questions about winning an Oscar.

"Surely, there must be some way to salvage the contracts we've made using the educational-AI grift. What about if it was just a little AI, just as a treat?"
