It’s so surreal and depressing hearing the news of someone’s passing literally a day after seeing them in person. Had the pleasure of seeing the late Eric Bauza at the “Comedy in Cartoons” Panel at LightBox on Saturday. Heres a highlight of him doing his Bugs Bunny impression for the audience.

I never got to meet Eric (my low self-esteem got the best of me there), & I wish I had the chance. The man left such a huge mark on so many of my friends & colleagues across so many different backgrounds. The news is such a gut punch that I can’t really process. It’s a terrible loss.

It's still hard processing it, but seeing everyone's outpouring of love & appreciation, from friends to colleagues to fans... all the pictures & videos & memories... it comforts & grounds me. I believe when people leave us, their energy doesn't, we carry it along with us. Bauza's a testament to that

Since I moved to LA, it seemed like every career milestone I had, Bauza was there to cheer and celebrate alongside me. My first union job, my first professional record session where we shared the booth together, all the premieres and wrap parties and gatherings, he was like the MC of our lives...

My first professional voice gig, I got to share the booth with Bauza, him as Bugs and me as Beaky. I was so nervous, so scared... and then he came into the booth with me, reassured me, told me I'd do better than okay, and for that half hour I felt like I really could be good enough for him.

Jesus, Eric was an amazing person. What a terrible loss, RIP.

Here's the thing I respect cheap creatives immensely. I respect Hannah Barbera pioneering budget television animation with looped backgrounds and banked run cycles. I respect Cannon films pumping out action movie shlock by reusing sets and old footage. AI sick CEOs are something else entirely.

One of my fav clips of Mel Blanc. You almost can’t believe that sound is actually coming out of that guy’s face. You can literally hear his voice echo off the walls of that set. The other scream he does after this clip is also insane if you can find it online.

I know for a fact I clipped this tiny segment from a Jack Benny Show skit some time ago but couldn't find it so I had to clip it all over again. Sometimes you see some bullshit & you just have to scream, "NOW WHAT!?!?!?" like this appearance from Mel Blanc as a burnt-out customer service employee.
