This is an enjoyable evisceration, which also makes some interesting points. It's rare to see a zero-star review at the best of times. That it has come from the Telegraph must really sting. www.telegraph.co.uk/books/non-fi...

In marketing, it's accepted that a message sinks in the more a consumer is exposed to it – the Rule of Seven. Which is why the BBC's continuing platforming of Farage in a way that is not reflected in other minority party coverage is such a big deal.
BBC News just interrupted its coverage to go, live, to Nigel Farage - a man with no contitutional standing in our setup - responding to the budget - a document which nobody has seen yet. WHY

Imagine a world where we are no longer dependent on oil and nuclear energy. It's coming and it's better and that's why the vested interests are doing everything in their power to stop it
Solar has overtaken nuclear. A decade ago it supplied 1% of the world's power. In 2025 it met three quarters of global demand growth. Almost nobody saw it coming. I spoke to Jocelyn Timperley at BBC Future about why. www.bbc.co.uk/future/artic...

Exactly. A referendum is a decision, not a life sentence. In 2016 voters chose Brexit; they didn’t vote to surrender the right of future generations to reconsider it. If the consequences prove damaging, as they have, democracy demands the freedom to debate, vote again, & potentially change course.

Yes, I have done some volunteering with the Bristol-based charity, Just Treatment, to try to increase awareness of what the Tories at the time had in store for our NHS! Did you know that the 2012 Health & Care Bill removed the Secretary of State’s obligation to provide healthcare for its citizens?!!

Support for the metric system in the UK is overwhelming - unsurprising because you would have to be a moron and/or over the age of 70 to think otherwise. My worry is for the 0.4% who think we should have only imperial measures. Hunt them down, & put them in a secure institution for monitoring.

So @frontiertony.bsky.social @neumannjo.bsky.social actually did this, and it shows a huge shift away from renewables and towards fossil gas in the pipeline of proposed power projects in the US Note this chart shows *capacity*, not *generation* (which makes solar look bigger than it will be)
Also I don't know if anyone has the coding (or....vibe coding?) chops for this, but it'd be fun to compare EIA's projections for installed cap vs what actually happens in a rolling file that features 'versioned' snapshots of each. A decade of semi-consistent XLS files to play with here!!
