As an institution, the New York Times has failed. This excellent thread by Michael Hobbes takes apart today's NYT editorial urging democracy defenders to mind their manners as they oppose Trump. NYT seems to hold out hope that lavender oatmilk lattes will be served in the journalist detention camps.

The board has been an egregious rubber stamp for his heinous hijinks and lack of — wait for it — new innovative cars people want to buy. He’s kicked his consumers — mostly liberal and Democratic — repeatedly in the nuts too and blames George Soros for his own mess. Its board is to blame.
